Lusha is a contact database sold on credits, with an open API. Clearbit (Breeze Intelligence) is data enrichment inside HubSpot. Pick Lusha to find and reveal people. Pick Clearbit to fill in records already in HubSpot. Neither publishes a price at 1M records.
Verdict
- Pick Lusha if you need to find and reveal contacts. It publishes its data counts, gives every plan an API key and has an MCP server with 50 tools (Lusha homepage, September 2026; Lusha MCP tools, September 2026).
- Pick Clearbit (Breeze Intelligence) if your contacts and companies already live in HubSpot and you want them filled in without code (HubSpot docs, October 2026).
- Pick neither if you pull people and company data by API at volume and want a price you can read. Lusha's credits and HubSpot's CRM plan are both a poor fit there. LeadOcean is one option, covered below.

Data and coverage
Lusha publishes its counts and Clearbit does not. Lusha claims 525M+ contacts and 29M+ companies, with 165M+ emails and 117M+ direct dials (Lusha homepage, September 2026). Those are its own numbers, not tested ones.
Clearbit's homepage gives no people, company or phone count (Clearbit, October 2026). That is a gap if you size a list before you buy.
The products also work differently. Lusha is a database you search and then reveal from. HubSpot's docs say enrichment needs a business email for a contact and a domain for a company (HubSpot docs, October 2026). It fills in a record you hold. It does not find new people.
Clearbit's strength is company structure. Its homepage lists 6-digit NAICS, GICS and SIC codes, parent and subsidiary mapping, and normalized role and seniority (Clearbit, October 2026). Lusha's homepage claims 26 buying signals refreshed weekly (Lusha homepage, September 2026).
API and developer experience
Lusha has a public REST API you can read before you sign up. Clearbit has an API too, but you cannot read it without an account. That alone decides the comparison for most engineers.
Lusha's V3 API takes the key in an api_key header. Search accepts a batch of contacts by name and domain, LinkedIn URL or email (Lusha API overview, September 2026). Placeholders stand in for a real person.
curl --request POST \
--url https://api.lusha.com/v3/contacts/search \
--header "api_key: $LUSHA_API_KEY" \
--header "Content-Type: application/json" \
--data '{
"contacts": [
{ "clientReferenceId": "my-ref-1", "firstName": "Jane", "lastName": "Doe", "companyDomain": "acme.com" }
],
"options": { "includePartialProfiles": true }
}'Search returns matches. You then pass the contact id to the enrich endpoint, and that reveal spends the credits. An email is 1 credit and a phone is 5. One contact with both is 7 credits through a single API request (Lusha API guide, September 2026).
Lusha's docs disagree on misses. The API guide says a request costs at least 1 credit even with no data (Lusha API guide, September 2026). The billing FAQ says no credit is deducted for a no-match request (Lusha billing FAQ, September 2026). Budget for the 1 credit until Lusha settles it.
Clearbit has no public request. Its API docs redirect to a sign-in page, so we show no sample (Clearbit docs, October 2026). New sign-ups have needed a HubSpot account since December 2023 (Clearbit release notes, October 2026). Inside HubSpot, a Super Admin turns on automatic enrichment (HubSpot docs, October 2026).
Limits differ in kind. Lusha's are per key by plan. Free and Starter get 40 a minute and 100 a day, Pro gets 50 a minute and 1,500 a day, and Premium gets 300 a minute and 18,000 a day. A separate page sets a default of 25 requests a second per account (Lusha rate limits, September 2026). Clearbit publishes no rate limit.
On MCP, Lusha runs an official server with 50 tools, and calls draw from the same credit pool as REST (Lusha MCP tools, September 2026). HubSpot's remote MCP server reads and writes CRM records. We found no MCP server for enrichment itself (HubSpot MCP, October 2026).
Pricing
Lusha prices every reveal in credits. Clearbit prices nothing of its own, because enrichment sits inside a HubSpot plan. Lusha figures use the monthly list price first, with the billed-yearly price after it.
At 10,000 work emails a month
- Lusha: 10,000 email credits by bulk API, plus 10,000 / 25 = 400 request credits. That is 10,400 credits (Lusha API guide, September 2026).
- The top public step is Premium at 10,000 credits a month: $977.40 billed monthly, or about $794.93 a month billed yearly ($9,539.10 for 120,000 credits). So 10,400 credits sits just above it, and Scale is custom (Lusha pricing, September 2026).
- Clearbit: no per-record price. HubSpot says enrichment does not consume HubSpot Credits, so you pay the plan (HubSpot docs, October 2026). From an index page, 10,000 records is 100 batches of 100.
At 10,000, Lusha has a price near the top of its ladder and Clearbit has a plan fee. A HubSpot Starter seat is $7 a month and Marketing Hub Professional is $800 a month with 3 seats (HubSpot pricing, September 2026). HubSpot does not publish a monthly enrichment volume, so confirm 10,000 is allowed on your plan.
At 1M work emails a month
- Lusha: 1,000,000 email credits plus 1,000,000 / 25 = 40,000 request credits, or 1,040,000 credits. The top public step holds 10,000 credits a month, so 1M is 104 times the largest listed plan. No public 1M price. We do not multiply a rate out and call it a quote (Lusha pricing, September 2026).
- Clearbit: No public 1M price. HubSpot publishes no per-record rate and no volume ceiling to size against. An index page takes 100 records at a time, so 1M is 10,000 batches, which makes it a workflow or import job (HubSpot docs, October 2026).
Phones change the sums at Lusha. A phone is 5 credits, so 10,000 contacts with email and phone by bulk API is 60,000 credits plus 400 request credits. That is 60,400, far past the top step. Scale gives 50%+ off the price per credit but no figure is public (Lusha pricing, September 2026).
Where Lusha wins
- A database you can search, with counts published: 525M+ contacts and 165M+ emails, by its own claim.
- An open API and an API key on every plan, Free included.
- Documented rate limits, so you can plan capacity before you sign.
- An MCP server with 50 tools, and 26 buying signals refreshed weekly.
- A Chrome extension and a Salesforce and HubSpot app for reps who work in the browser (Lusha homepage, September 2026).
- A clear entry price: Free, then Starter at $49.90 a month.
Where Clearbit (Breeze Intelligence) wins
- Enrichment inside HubSpot. Automatic enrichment fills new records without anyone writing code.
- Richer company data: 6-digit NAICS, GICS and SIC codes, and parent and subsidiary mapping (Clearbit, October 2026).
- Form shortening, so a form drops fields that Clearbit can enrich from an email address.
- No per-record price to track when you already own a HubSpot plan.
If you need volume through an API
We build LeadOcean, so weigh this section accordingly. It is a data API and MCP server with no seats, no credits and no CRM in front of it. Pro is $499 a month flat, and Free gives 1,000 records one-off with no card. Both plans get the same REST API and 12-tool MCP server, and POST /v1/exports returns up to 50,000 rows per request (LeadOcean exports docs, September 2026). It has no Chrome extension and no HubSpot enrichment, so keep those tools for that work. Compare it on a list you know, then read the Lusha alternative and pricing.
FAQ
Is Lusha or Clearbit better for finding new contacts?
Lusha. It is a searchable database with prospecting filters, and you spend credits on the contacts you reveal. Clearbit enrichment starts from an email or domain you already hold, so it fills in records and does not search for new people (HubSpot docs, October 2026).
Is Clearbit still a separate product?
Partly. Clearbit's site says it has joined HubSpot, and new sign-ups need a HubSpot account (Clearbit release notes, October 2026). HubSpot's docs call the feature data enrichment and list it inside its hubs.
Which is cheaper, Lusha or Clearbit?
It depends on what you already own. Lusha starts at $49.90 a month on Starter with 400 credits, so every record has a visible cost. Clearbit has no standalone price, only a HubSpot plan from $7 a seat. If HubSpot is already paid for, Clearbit adds little.
Do both have an API and an MCP server?
Lusha does, and the key comes with every plan. Its MCP server is at https://mcp.lusha.com. Clearbit documents an API behind a sign-in, and we found no enrichment MCP server. HubSpot's MCP server covers CRM records.
How do their rate limits compare?
Lusha publishes them: 40 a minute on Free and Starter, 50 on Pro, 300 on Premium, per key (Lusha API guide, September 2026). Clearbit publishes none, so ask HubSpot before you build on it.
How does LeadOcean compare with these two?
LeadOcean is a data API and MCP server with one flat price, $499 a month on Pro. It does not replace Lusha's browser extension or HubSpot's in-CRM enrichment. For related reading, see Lusha vs SalesIntel, Lusha vs Dealfront, Clearbit vs Wiza and Lusha alternatives.
