People leave ZoomInfo when the contract is bigger than the job. Platform plans are annual and quoted by sales, and Vendr reports a median of $33,500 a year across 1,574 purchases (Vendr, September 2026). ZoomInfo says most paid plans bill annually upfront (ZoomInfo, September 2026). ZoomInfo's pricing page blocks automated reading, so see its pricing page for what it shows today.
Its newer API, GTM.AI, is pay as you go. Data credits list at $0.38 each at the $1,000 spend tier, and one credit covers one record enriched or exported (GTM.AI pricing, September 2026). Search is free, enrichment is not. The slider stops at 100,000 credits for $25,000 ($0.25 each), so there is no public 1M price. That suits a team that needs intent data. It is steep for a team that needs contacts.
This page ranks six alternatives for people leaving ZoomInfo. For a two-column view, read LeadOcean vs ZoomInfo. For API buyers only, see ZoomInfo API alternatives.
TL;DR
| Tool | Best for | Starting price | Cost at 1M records a month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apollo | Reps who want a database and a sequencer | Basic $49 per seat a month, billed annually | $24,750 a month on monthly billing (250 Professional seats), $19,600 on yearly (400 Basic seats) |
| LeadOcean | API, agent and volume buyers | Free (1,000 records, one-off). Pro $499 a month | $499 a month flat. Fair use applies |
| Cognism | Phone-verified mobiles | No public price | Custom quote |
| Lusha | Reps who prospect in a browser extension | Starter $49.90 a month | No public 1M price. Top tier is Premium, $9,539.10 billed yearly for 120,000 credits (about $0.0795 a credit) |
| UpLead | Small teams that want verified emails | Essentials $99 a month for 170 credits | No public 1M price. Plus extra credits are $0.50, capped at $2,000 of purchases a day |
| People Data Labs | Data licences and per-match enrichment | Pro from $98 a month for 350 credits | No public 1M price. Pro is $0.28 a credit, and above about 100,000 profiles a year it is quote only |
"1M records" means 1M work-email lookups that return a result, one credit each where the vendor uses credits. Where a vendor sells no plan at 1M, the cell says so and names the top public tier. Ask each vendor for a quote at your volume.
What we evaluated
- Price model: flat, credits or seats, and what 1M records a month costs at list price.
- API access: which plan opens it, and the default rate limit.
- MCP: whether an agent can search and enrich through the server.
- Data: stated coverage, email and phone fields.
- Limits that bite: plan gates, expiring credits, daily caps and use restrictions.
We read each vendor's pricing page and docs in September 2026. We ran no find-rate or accuracy test, so we quote no quality numbers.
1. Apollo: best for reps who want a database and a sequencer

Apollo is the nearest swap for a rep who uses ZoomInfo as a workspace. It lists 240M+ contacts and 30M+ companies, plus sequences, a dialer and a Chrome extension (Apollo MCP page, September 2026). It ranks first because most ZoomInfo leavers still have reps to equip.
Pricing is per seat. Basic is $49 with 30,000 credits a year, Professional is $79 with 48,000, and Organization is $119 with 72,000 and a three-seat minimum, all billed annually (Apollo pricing, September 2026). Credits expire each cycle.
For code, enrichment endpoints allow 1,000 requests a minute on paid plans, and general endpoints 200 a minute on Basic and Professional (Apollo docs, September 2026). Apollo says its plans are for internal business use only.
Pros
- Database, sequences, dialer and Chrome extension in one tool.
- MCP server on every plan, with OAuth sign-in.
- A free plan and published seat prices.
Cons
- Seats and credits both scale the bill, and credits expire.
- Selection caps of 25, 1,000, 2,500 and 10,000 records by plan.
- Internal use only, so you cannot build a product on it.
Best for: sales reps who prospect and send from one workspace.
Pricing: Free. Basic $49, Professional $79, Organization $119 per seat a month, billed annually (Apollo pricing, September 2026).
2. LeadOcean: best for API, agent and volume buyers
LeadOcean is one dataset behind one REST API and one MCP server. It holds 693M people, 366M with an email and 166M with a phone number, plus 63M companies. You search with 50 people filters and 34 company filters, and counts are free. Enrichment is POST /v1/people/enrich, phones are GET /v2/people/phone, and exports run up to 50,000 rows per request.
Pro is $499 a month with unlimited searches, enrichments and lookups, 5 API keys and 100 requests per second per key. There are no credits and no overage invoice. A very large month is paced down to one request a minute until the reset, not cut off.
The MCP server at https://api.leadocean.io/mcp signs in with OAuth 2.1 and exposes 12 tools, from search_leads to find_phone. There is also an app with an Exports page: filter builder, column picker, price preview and CSV download (LeadOcean docs, September 2026).
Pros
- Flat $499 a month at any volume, with no credit meter.
- REST and MCP on every plan, including Free.
- Email status on every record, from
verifiedtospam_trap.
Cons
- No intent data, org charts or buying signals.
- No rep workspace: no sequencer, dialer, CRM or Chrome extension.
- One dataset, and no phone-verification claim.
Best for: engineers, RevOps and agents that need volume and a fixed bill.
Pricing: Free is 1,000 records, one-off, no card. Pro is $499 a month, flat (LeadOcean pricing, September 2026).
3. Cognism: best for phone-verified mobiles

Cognism is a sales intelligence platform that sells phone-verified contacts. Its staff call a number to confirm the right person answers, and it lists 10M+ phone-verified contacts (Cognism, September 2026). If your reps cold call, that is the point of the product.
The pricing page shows no dollar amounts. A credit reveals, enriches or exports one contact, and each plan includes five seats (Cognism pricing, September 2026). You cannot size a 1M-record job before a sales call.
API access needs a package that includes it (Cognism docs, September 2026). The docs also describe an MCP server with the same capabilities as the API. Cognism allows 500 requests a minute per account, per operation (search, count and dictionary), in a 60-second window, and sets higher limits per package (Cognism rate limits, September 2026).
Pros
- Phone numbers verified by a human call.
- MCP server with the same capabilities as the API.
- Re-viewing a revealed contact is free.
Cons
- No public price, so you negotiate first.
- Credits and seats gate every reveal.
- API access depends on your package.
Best for: outbound teams that call mobiles and accept a quote.
Pricing: Custom quote, no public price (Cognism pricing, September 2026).
4. Lusha: best for reps who prospect in a browser extension

Lusha is a contact and company data platform with a Chrome extension, a REST API and an MCP server. It lists 525M+ contacts, 29M+ companies and 117M+ direct dials (Lusha, September 2026). Its prices are public, which is a change from ZoomInfo.
The meter is credits. An email costs 1 credit and a phone number 5. Starter is $49.90 a month, and Premium is $399.90 for 3,400 credits (Lusha pricing, September 2026). Free gives 40 credits a month. Premium is the top public tier: 10,000 credits a month for $977.40 billed monthly, or 120,000 a year for $9,539.10 billed yearly, about $0.0795 a credit. Scale is custom, with no published rate. There is no public price at 1M.
An API key comes with every plan, including Free. Daily caps apply: 100 on Free, 1,500 on Pro and 18,000 on Premium. Bulk calls take 100 records each (Lusha docs, September 2026). The MCP server exposes 50 tools (Lusha docs, September 2026).
Pros
- Public prices from $49.90 a month.
- API key and MCP server on every plan.
- A browser extension for reps.
Cons
- A phone number costs 5 credits, so a full contact costs 6.
- Daily request caps on every plan below Scale.
- Lusha's docs disagree on whether a request with no match costs a credit: the API guide says at least 1 credit, the V3 billing FAQ says none (Lusha billing FAQ, September 2026). Confirm with Lusha support.
Best for: reps who want cheap self-serve contact data and a browser extension.
Pricing: Free, Starter $49.90, Premium $399.90 a month ($299.95 billed yearly), Scale custom (Lusha pricing, September 2026).
5. UpLead: best for small teams that want verified emails
UpLead is a verified-contact database sold in credits. It checks emails in real time, claims 95% accuracy and refunds credits for bounces (UpLead, September 2026). It lists 200M+ leads.
Essentials is $99 a month for 170 credits. Plus is $199 for 400. Extra credits cost $0.60 on Essentials and $0.50 on Plus, and both plans include one user (UpLead pricing, September 2026). Plus purchases are capped at $2,000 a day, so there is no public price at 1M (UpLead help center, September 2026). Full API access, including the Enrichment API, is on Professional only, which is custom-priced and annual only.
The API allows 500 requests a minute (UpLead docs, September 2026). UpLead's site and docs do not mention an MCP server.
Pros
- A 95% accuracy claim with credit refunds for bounces.
- A credit is charged only for a Valid or Accept All email.
- Chrome extension and CRM integrations on paid plans.
Cons
- Small allowances: 170 or 400 credits a month.
- Full API access needs a Professional quote.
- No first-party MCP server.
Best for: a one-person sales team that sends a few hundred contacts a month.
Pricing: Essentials $99, Plus $199 a month, Professional custom (UpLead pricing, September 2026).
6. People Data Labs: best for data licences and per-match enrichment

People Data Labs (PDL) is a person and company data API with bulk licences. It is ISO and SOC 2 Type 2 compliant, which matters for procurement (PDL pricing, September 2026). It charges per match, and a miss costs nothing.
Pro starts at $98 a month for 350 credits, or $0.28 each, and PDL puts it at about $0.20 to $0.28 a profile. Free gives up to 100 records a month with contact data hidden. Above about 100,000 profiles a year it is quote only (PDL docs, September 2026).
Enrichment allows 1,000 calls a minute on paid plans (PDL docs, September 2026). Person search defaults to 10 a minute (PDL docs, September 2026). We found only third-party MCP wrappers. none listed in PDL's docs index (PDL docs, September 2026).
Pros
- A fast enrichment API at 1,000 calls a minute.
- Dataset licences for your own warehouse.
- Compliance paperwork on the pricing page.
Cons
- $0.28 a record at the entry rate.
- Contact data is hidden on the Free plan.
- No official MCP server found.
Best for: data teams that license files or need compliance paperwork.
Pricing: Free up to 100 records a month. Pro from $98 a month for 350 credits (PDL pricing, September 2026).

Sources are linked in each tool section, all checked in September 2026. Vendors change plans often, so confirm on the pricing page before you buy. The 1M column covers email lookups. Apollo is 250 Professional seats at $99 on monthly billing, or 400 Basic seats at $49 on yearly billing. PDL and ZoomInfo's GTM.AI sell no public plan at 1M. Lusha and UpLead sell no plan at 1M, so their cells name the top public tier or the purchase cap.

Cognism wins for phone-verified mobiles, Lusha for cheap self-serve credits, UpLead for a small team that values an accuracy guarantee and PDL for licensed datasets. Stay on ZoomInfo if intent data and org charts drive your pipeline. Otherwise start on the free plan and compare the same lookups.
FAQ
How much does ZoomInfo cost?
ZoomInfo does not publish platform prices. Vendr reports a median of $33,500 a year (Vendr, September 2026). GTM.AI lists data credits at $0.38 each at the $1,000 spend tier (GTM.AI pricing, September 2026).
What do you lose by leaving ZoomInfo?
Intent data and org charts. ZoomInfo sells buying signals and organization charts next to contacts (Crustdata, September 2026). None of the six tools here matches both, so keep a small ZoomInfo contract if your team sells on intent.
What is the cheapest ZoomInfo alternative at volume?
At 1M records a month, LeadOcean at $499 flat is cheapest on list price. Apollo's seat arithmetic is $24,750 a month on monthly billing or $19,600 on yearly billing. PDL, ZoomInfo, Lusha, UpLead and Cognism publish no price at 1M, so ask each for a quote.
Which ZoomInfo alternative has an MCP server that returns data?
LeadOcean, Apollo, Cognism and Lusha all do. UpLead has no first-party server in its docs. We found no official PDL server. ZoomInfo also has one through GTM.AI. Compare the tools each exposes before you choose.
Can I use ZoomInfo and another data source together?
Yes. Build large lists in a flat-price source and spend ZoomInfo credits only on named accounts where you want signals. See LeadOcean vs ZoomInfo for the steps.
Do I need a credit card to try LeadOcean?
No. The free plan needs a work email and no card. It gives you 1,000 records, one-off, with the same API and MCP server as Pro. See pricing.
