Anymail Finder is an email finder. You send a name and a company, it verifies an address live, and you pay one credit only when it finds a valid one. LeadOcean is a people and company database you search, enrich and export over REST or MCP at $499 a month, flat. If email lookups are all you need at low volume, Anymail Finder is cheaper. If you need volume, search or company data, LeadOcean is the better fit.
Why teams switch from Anymail Finder
The bill grows with every email found
Anymail Finder charges one credit per valid email, and two for a decision-maker search (Anymail Finder pricing, September 2026). The largest monthly plan is 100,000 credits for $799. Past that you buy one-time packs, so a bigger month means a bigger invoice.
It finds an email, not a market
Anymail Finder takes a person or a company and returns emails. The API docs list person, decision-maker, company, LinkedIn and verify endpoints, with no search across a database and no phone lookup (Anymail Finder API docs, September 2026). You must bring your own list of targets first.
No company data
There is no firmographic lookup. You cannot ask for Series A SaaS companies in Canada, or for companies by technology. You still need a second tool to build the list you then send to Anymail Finder.
Credits that outlive the plan only while you pay
Subscription credits roll over with no cap while the subscription stays active (Anymail Finder pricing, September 2026). One-time packs are valid for 12 months. Stop paying and unused subscription credits go with the plan.

What 1M, 5M and 25M records cost
Anymail Finder sells credits, and one credit is one valid email found. LeadOcean Pro stays at $499 a month. The Anymail Finder column is USD list price from the pricing page USD view, and the page shows Canadian dollars to visitors in Canada.
| Emails found | Anymail Finder at list price | LeadOcean |
|---|---|---|
| 1M | $4,990. One-time 1M pack, valid 12 months. | $499 a month. |
| 5M | About $24,950. Extrapolated, above the largest pack. | $499 a month. |
| 25M | About $124,750. Extrapolated, above the largest pack. | $499 a month. Past fair use, one email raises the headroom. |
Arithmetic: 1M credits x $0.0050 = $4,990, taken from the 1M pack (Anymail Finder pricing, September 2026). The 5M and 25M rows multiply that pack by 5 and by 25. Anymail Finder lists nothing above 1M credits, so real quotes for those volumes may be lower.
The 1M figure is a one-time pack, not a month. The biggest monthly plan buys 100,000 credits for $799, so 1M in a month means a pack. On the yearly plans, 1.2M credits a year costs $6,420.
Anymail Finder offers volume pricing on request above the 1M pack (Anymail Finder pricing, September 2026). Monthly plans run from $29 for 400 credits to $799 for 100,000 credits. The USD view is the same page with ?currency=usd.
Credits are only charged on valid emails, so your bill depends on your find rate. A list where half the lookups miss costs half as many credits. LeadOcean does not bill by find rate on Pro.
Where LeadOcean wins
A flat bill at any volume
Pro is $499 a month. Every person or company returned counts as a record, but there is no credit balance to watch and no overage invoice. A very large month is paced down to one request a minute until the reset, not cut off, and one email to support gets you more headroom.
Search first, then enrich
LeadOcean lets you build the list, not just fill it. Search 693M people with 50 filters and 63M companies with 34, across 254 countries and 534 industries. Counts are free, so you size an audience before you spend a record.
Built for code and agents
Both tools have an API and an MCP server. LeadOcean's also searches and exports, through 12 tools behind one OAuth sign-in. One request returns a profile, email status and, with reveal_email, every email and phone number we hold, for one record.
curl -X POST "https://api.leadocean.io/v1/people/enrich" \
-H "x-api-key: $LEADOCEAN_API_KEY" \
-H "content-type: application/json" \
-d '{"linkedin_url":"https://www.linkedin.com/in/jane-doe","reveal_email":true}'For Claude or Cursor, add the MCP URL https://api.leadocean.io/mcp and sign in. No key gets pasted into a chat.
Phones and companies in the same schema
166M people carry a phone number, and GET /v2/people/phone returns it. Company lookups are POST /v1/companies/enrich. You get emails, phones and firmographics from one dataset, and one exports call moves up to 50,000 rows, so 1M rows is 20 requests over two days.
Where Anymail Finder wins
Live verification and a bounce guarantee
Anymail Finder says it verifies every address against the recipient's mail server at lookup time (Anymail Finder, September 2026). It also credits back verified emails that bounce. LeadOcean returns a stored status on each record and has no bounce credit-back. If deliverability is the whole job, that matters.
Low volume is cheaper, and there is no rate limit
At 10,000 credits a month the plan is $199, less than LeadOcean Pro. You pay nothing on a miss. The API states no rate limits (Anymail Finder docs, September 2026), while LeadOcean caps each key at 100 requests per second.
Bigger bulk jobs and simpler seats
One bulk job takes up to 100,000 rows, twice LeadOcean's 50,000 per export request (bulk docs, September 2026). Team members are unlimited with no per-seat price. LeadOcean Pro includes 5 API keys.
Use both
Use Anymail Finder as a verification pass on the people LeadOcean finds. LeadOcean builds the list and returns the emails it holds. Anymail Finder then checks the addresses you are about to send to, and you pay only for those it confirms.
- Create a free LeadOcean key at app.leadocean.io/register. The free plan needs no card.
- Search with
jobFunction, jobLevelandcountryfilters. Count first, then export the people you want. - Send each name and company domain to Anymail Finder's find-person endpoint. Keep the addresses it marks valid.
FAQ
Is LeadOcean a full Anymail Finder replacement?
For finding work emails in code or an agent, yes, and it adds search, companies and phones. It does not verify live at lookup time, and it has no bounce credit-back. If those two matter most, keep Anymail Finder.
How much does Anymail Finder cost?
Plans start at $29 a month for 400 credits and top out at $799 for 100,000. One-time packs run from $1,090 for 100,000 credits to $4,990 for 1M (Anymail Finder pricing, September 2026). These are USD list prices, and the page shows Canadian dollars to visitors in Canada.
Does Anymail Finder have an API and an MCP server?
Both. The REST API uses an API key and the MCP server lives at https://api.anymailfinder.com/mcp (Anymail Finder docs, September 2026). It covers email find and verify. It has no database search.
Does Anymail Finder charge for emails it cannot find?
No. A credit is only charged when a valid email is found. Risky, blacklisted and not-found results are free (docs, September 2026).
What does LeadOcean cost, and is there a limit?
Free gives you 1,000 records, one-off, with no card. Pro is $499 a month, flat, with no credits and no per-record price. Past the fair-usage line a very large month is paced down instead of cut off, and support can raise the headroom.
Do I need a credit card to try it?
No. The free plan needs a work email and no card, and it has the same API and MCP server as Pro. Anymail Finder's trial gives 100 credits and verifies a card without charging it.
