Facts below were checked in September 2026, each with its source link. Where a vendor shows nothing we could read, the page says so.

Verdict

  • Pick Findymail if you want phone numbers, plain-language lead lists or job-change signals next to the email finder. Read its plan prices on its own site before you buy.
  • Pick Anymail Finder if you hold name and domain lists and want a published price per credit, a stated "no rate limits" API and bulk jobs of up to 100,000 rows.
  • Pick neither if you start from an audience, not a name list. You need filters, phones for EU contacts, or a fixed bill at 1M records. See the LeadOcean section below.

Data and coverage

Neither tool sells a database you browse. Both take a person and find an address, so coverage is a find rate on your list, not a record count. Neither publishes a find rate we could verify.

Findymail returns a verified email or nothing. Its docs charge one finder credit only when a verified email is found (Findymail API docs, September 2026). It goes further than Anymail Finder in three places:

  • Phones: 10 credits per number found, with the line type. Requests for EU citizens return nothing.
  • Lead search: Intellimatch takes a plain-language query such as "SaaS companies in US" and exports up to 5,000 companies per search.
  • Employees: one call returns up to 5 contacts at a company, 1 credit each, as LinkedIn profiles.

Anymail Finder does the email job in more shapes. It finds a person's email, up to 20 emails at a company for one credit, or a decision maker for two (Anymail Finder pricing, September 2026). It also verifies an address for 0.2 credits.

Anymail Finder checks the mailbox live rather than reading a stored list (Anymail Finder MCP page, September 2026). Risky results were never charged. From 5 October 2026 a search that would have returned a risky email returns not_found (find person docs, September 2026).

A bounce is handled differently. Anymail Finder lets you report a verified email that bounced for a credit back after review (Anymail Finder pricing, September 2026). We could not read Findymail's pricing page, so we state nothing about its bounce terms.

API and developer experience

Both are single-call REST APIs with a name and a domain. Both support a webhook for async results. Findymail uses a Bearer token. Anymail Finder puts the key in an Authorization header and recommends a 180-second timeout, because searches run in real time.

Findymail, from its API docs, checked September 2026:

bash
curl --request POST "https://app.findymail.com/api/search/name" \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer $FINDYMAIL_API_KEY" \
  --header "Content-Type: application/json" \
--data '{"name": "Jane Doe", "domain": "acme.com"}'

Anymail Finder, from its find person docs, checked September 2026:

bash
curl -X POST "https://api.anymailfinder.com/v5.1/find-email/person" \
  -H "Authorization: $ANYMAILFINDER_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"domain": "acme.com", "full_name": "Jane Doe"}'

The Anymail Finder response carries email_status (valid, risky, not_found, blacklisted) and credits_charged. Findymail returns the contact, and the docs mark its older find-from-domain call as deprecated.

On MCP, Findymail exposes 14 tools, including phone, employees and lead lists. Anymail Finder exposes five: person, decision maker, company emails, verify and account. Anymail Finder's MCP does not cover bulk files or webhooks (Anymail Finder MCP page, September 2026).

On limits, Findymail caps concurrency at 300 simultaneous requests, with 30 on business-profile lookups (Findymail API docs, September 2026). Anymail Finder states no rate limits and says the system auto-scales. Test both with your real load before you commit.

Pricing

Both bill per found email, so the bill follows your hit rate. We could not read Findymail's plan prices, so only Anymail Finder is priced here. Figures use the monthly list price first, with the billed-yearly price after it.

At 10,000 emails a month

  • Anymail Finder: the 10,000-credit plan is $199 a month ($0.020 a credit). On yearly billing, 120,000 credits cost $1,596, which is $133 a month (Anymail Finder pricing, September 2026). Misses are free, so if 7 in 10 lookups hit, you use about 7,000 credits.
  • Findymail: 10,000 finder credits if every lookup finds a verified email. We could not read plan prices, so read the step that covers 10,000 on Findymail's pricing page.

At 1M emails a month

  • Anymail Finder: 1,000,000 credits x $0.00499 = $4,990 from the 1M pack, valid 12 months. The largest monthly plan is 100,000 credits at $799, so 10 of those ($7,990) is not one plan you can buy. Yearly, 1,200,000 credits cost $6,420 (Anymail Finder pricing, September 2026). Above 1M it offers volume pricing on request.
  • Findymail: 1,000,000 finder credits. No public 1M price. Ask for a quote.

Credits roll over on Anymail Finder while the subscription is active, and team seats are unlimited on one shared pool. Phones change the sums on Findymail: a phone costs 10 credits, ten times an email.

Where Findymail wins

  • Phones. Anymail Finder has no phone endpoint. Findymail returns a phone number with its line type, except for EU citizens.
  • Lead search. Intellimatch builds a company and contact list from a sentence. Anymail Finder needs your list first.
  • Signals. The docs list job changes, new hires and keyword mentions as a signals feature (Findymail API docs, September 2026).
  • Reach in an agent. 14 MCP tools against five.

Where Anymail Finder wins

  • Published prices. Every plan and pack is on one page, and the 1M pack is a real number.
  • No stated rate limit. Findymail caps concurrency at 300, and lower on some endpoints.
  • Bigger bulk jobs. 100,000 rows per job, about 1,000 rows in five minutes on average (bulk docs, September 2026).
  • Bounce credit-back and rollover. Both are on its pricing page.

If you need volume through an API

Neither tool is built to pull a million records from a filterable database. LeadOcean is a people and company database with 693M people and 63M companies. It is not a drop-in swap for name-and-domain lookups, since you search by domain first and then enrich by person_id. Pro costs $499 a month, flat, with no credits and no per-record price, and Free gives 1,000 records one-off with no card. Both plans get the same REST API and 12-tool MCP server, and POST /v1/exports returns up to 50,000 rows per request (LeadOcean exports docs, September 2026). See LeadOcean pricing.
