LeadMagic and Anymail Finder both find a work email from a name and a company, and both bill one credit per valid email. Anymail Finder is cheaper at 10,000 and at 100,000 emails a month, and states no rate limit. LeadMagic is the wider tool: it adds mobile numbers, a people and company search, job posts and a 43-tool MCP server.
Verdict
- Pick LeadMagic if you need mobile numbers, a search across people and companies, or hiring signals next to the email. Its API is one family of endpoints for all of that, and failed lookups cost nothing.
- Pick Anymail Finder if the job is verified emails at the lowest cost per find. 10,000 credits are $199 a month there, against $249 on LeadMagic's smallest plan that covers them. It also sells 1M credits for $4,990, a price LeadMagic does not publish.
- Pick neither if you need to build the list first, or pull people at volume without a per-email meter. Both tools bill per credit and both start from a name you already have. LeadOcean is a 693M-person database at a flat $499 a month.

Data and coverage
LeadMagic is a stored dataset with verification on top. Anymail Finder is a live verifier with no stored list. LeadMagic's homepage cites 400M+ people, 25M+ companies and 46M+ job posts (LeadMagic, September 2026). Anymail Finder publishes no database size because it checks each address against the recipient's mail server when you ask (Anymail Finder, September 2026).
Neither tool publishes an independent find rate. Anymail Finder reports a 14-tool benchmark of 5,000 B2B contacts, with verified emails for 86.4% and 98.9% of those confirmed valid by outside verifiers (Anymail Finder, September 2026). Treat it as a vendor claim. LeadMagic publishes no find rate on the pages we read. Its Fair Use policy can throttle an account whose Email Finder find rate stays under 10% (LeadMagic docs, September 2026).
Phones separate the two. LeadMagic sells a Mobile Finder at 5 credits per valid mobile (LeadMagic pricing, September 2026). Anymail Finder has no phone endpoint. LeadMagic publishes no count of how many people have a mobile, so test a sample before you buy.
Search is the other gap. LeadMagic lets you search people by title, function, seniority, company and geography, and companies by firmographics (LeadMagic, September 2026). Anymail Finder has find-person, decision-maker, company and verify endpoints, but no search across a database (Anymail Finder docs, September 2026).
API and developer experience
Both APIs take a name and a domain, and both are small. LeadMagic is a POST with an X-API-Key header. Anymail Finder is a POST with the key in the Authorization header.
LeadMagic Find Work Email, from its docs:
curl -X POST 'https://api.leadmagic.io/v1/people/email-finder' \
-H "X-API-Key: $LEADMAGIC_API_KEY" \
-H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
-d '{"first_name": "Jane", "last_name": "Doe", "domain": "acme.com"}'It returns email, status and credits_consumed. A valid email is 1 credit and a null result is free. You can pass a B2B profile URL instead of a name and domain.
Anymail Finder find person, from its docs:
curl -X POST "https://api.anymailfinder.com/v5.1/find-email/person" \
-H "Authorization: $ANYMAILFINDER_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"domain": "acme.com", "full_name": "Jane Doe"}'It returns email_status, valid_email and credits_charged. One credit is charged only when the email is valid.
The practical gaps are limits and timing. LeadMagic caps Email Finder at 600 requests a minute, with a burst of about 10 a second (LeadMagic docs, September 2026). Anymail Finder states no rate limits and no daily caps. Its searches run live, so a call can take several seconds and the docs recommend a 180-second timeout. Send an x-webhook-url header and the result is posted to you instead.
Both have a hosted MCP server. LeadMagic's is at mcp.leadmagic.io/mcp, takes OAuth sign-in only (no static API key) and states 43 tools (LeadMagic MCP, September 2026). Anymail Finder's has five actions: find a person's email, find a decision maker, find emails at a company, verify an email and check your account. It does not cover bulk files or webhooks (Anymail Finder MCP, September 2026).
Pricing
Anymail Finder is cheaper at 10,000 and at 100,000 emails a month. It is also the only one with a public price at 1M. Both charge one credit per valid email and nothing for a miss, so the examples assume every lookup finds a valid email. A lower find rate lowers both bills.
10,000 emails a month
- LeadMagic: Essential has 5,000 credits, so the smallest plan covering 10,000 is Growth at $249 a month for 20,000 credits. Billed yearly it is $2,490 a year, or $208 a month, for 240,000 credits a year (LeadMagic pricing, September 2026). Cost per email used: $249 / 10,000 = $0.0249. The unused 10,000 credits roll over on a monthly plan, up to twice the monthly allocation (LeadMagic, September 2026).
- Anymail Finder: $199 a month for 10,000 credits, marked best value, or $1,596 a year for 120,000 credits, which is $133 a month (Anymail Finder pricing, September 2026). Cost per email: $199 / 10,000 = $0.0199.
At that volume Anymail Finder is $50 a month cheaper on the list price, about 20%. If you use all 20,000 LeadMagic credits, LeadMagic wins: $249 / 20,000 = $0.01245 a credit. Anymail Finder's smallest plan above 10,000 is 25,000 credits for $299, which is $0.012 a credit but a bigger bill.
1M emails
- LeadMagic: No public 1M price. The top self-serve plan is Ultimate at $849 a month for 100,000 credits, or $8,490 a year billed yearly for 1,200,000 credits. Enterprise starts at $2,490 a quarter paid upfront with custom volume pricing, and no credit rate is published (LeadMagic pricing, September 2026). Top-up prices are not published either (LeadMagic help, September 2026).
- Anymail Finder: the 1M pack is $4,990 at $0.0050 a credit, paid once and valid 12 months (Anymail Finder pricing, September 2026).
The Anymail Finder figure is a one-off purchase, not a month. Its largest monthly plan is 100,000 credits for $799, and ten of those are not sold as one plan. LeadMagic's 1M number comes from a sales call, so ask for a quote. Both prices exclude mobiles, which cost 5 credits each at LeadMagic.
Where LeadMagic wins
- Mobile numbers. Mobile Finder returns a direct mobile for 5 credits. Anymail Finder has no phone endpoint.
- Search and job data. People, company and jobs search sit in the same account. Search in the app costs no credits on any paid plan (LeadMagic pricing, September 2026).
- A larger MCP toolset. 43 stated tools against five actions, covering search, enrichment and validation.
- A cheaper plan around 20,000 emails. Growth is $249 a month for 20,000 credits. Anymail Finder's nearest plan is 25,000 credits for $299.
Where Anymail Finder wins
- Lower price at 10,000 and 100,000. $199 for 10,000 credits against $249 for a 20,000-credit plan, and $799 for 100,000 credits against $849 on LeadMagic Ultimate. It also has a public 1M pack at $4,990.
- No stated rate limit. LeadMagic caps Email Finder at 600 a minute. Anymail Finder's docs say no cap on parallel searches.
- Live verification and a bounce credit-back. A verified email that bounces can be reported for a credit back after review (Anymail Finder pricing, September 2026).
- Free trial and flexible buying. 100 credits when you verify a card, plus one-time packs and yearly plans that deliver all credits upfront. LeadMagic has no free plan.
If you need volume through an API
LeadOcean fits when the job is building a list, not filling one in. It holds 693M people, 366M with an email and 166M with a phone number, plus 63M companies, behind REST and a 12-tool MCP server. Pro is $499 a month flat with no credits, and Free gives 1,000 records one-off with no card. POST /v1/exports returns up to 50,000 rows per request, and the rate limit is 100 requests per second per key.
LeadOcean does not verify live and does not credit back bounces, so read email_status before you send. It has no CSV upload screen, sequencer or Chrome extension.
