An email finder returns a person's business email address from a name and company, a LinkedIn URL or an ID. Sales teams, recruiters and agent builders who sell into Canada need one that actually holds Canadian people. Most vendors publish a global total and nothing for Canada.
This page ranks seven finders on one criterion: how well they cover people who work in Canada, and how you can check it before you pay. LeadOcean's figures come from free counts we ran on 21 October 2026. Every other number is the vendor's claim, with its source. Six have their own page: Lead411, Apollo, Lusha, Hunter, Prospeo and FullEnrich. New to the category? Read what an email finder is first.
TL;DR
| Tool | Best for | Starting price | Cost at 1M records a month |
|---|---|---|---|
| LeadOcean | Canadian lists pulled by API, agent or volume | Free (1,000 records, one-off). Solo $97 a month | Agency $497 a month. Fair-use pace applies |
| Lead411 | Reps in the US and Canada who want an app and intent data | Spark $49 a month ($40.83 billed yearly) | No public 1M price. Unlimited exports are a quote |
| Apollo | Reps who want a workspace and a free plan | Basic $65 a seat a month ($49 billed yearly) | $24,750 a month on monthly billing, or $19,600 billed yearly, as seats at list price |
| Lusha | A free plan to test Canadian contacts | Starter $49.90 a month ($37.45 billed yearly) | No public 1M price. Top public tier is 10,000 credits for $977.40 a month |
| Hunter | Domain lookups with an app and extension | Free 50 credits a month. Starter $49 a month ($34 billed yearly) | $6,900 once for 1,000,000 Search credits on Data Platform, valid 12 months |
| Prospeo | Reps who want an extension and pay per user | Free 100 credits a month. Starter $49 per user a month ($37 billed yearly) | $14,456 a month, cheapest public path ($11,223 once billed yearly) |
| FullEnrich | Waterfall emails and mobiles for known names | Pro $29 a month for 500 credits ($26 billed yearly) | No public 1M price. Top monthly tier: 100,000 credits for $3,500 a month |
"1M records" means 1M work-email lookups that return a result, at list price. Where a vendor sells no plan at 1M, the cell shows its top public tier or cheapest public path, not a price.
What we evaluated
- Published Canada figure: a count for Canada, a country list that includes Canada, or nothing. Vendors count by different rules, so totals do not compare cleanly.
- A free test you can run: whether you can check Canadian coverage on a free plan or trial before you pay.
- API and MCP: which plans open the API and an agent server, and the default rate limit.
- Price model at volume: flat, credits or seats, and the list price of 1M work-email lookups.
- Limits that bite: plan ceilings, seat rules and what a miss costs.
We ran no find-rate or accuracy test. We counted Canadian records only in LeadOcean. Treat every other figure as a vendor claim until you run the test below.
The Canada coverage test
Pick 20 Canadian companies you sell to, ideally .ca domains across more than one province, and one or two named decision makers at each. Run the same 20 through each tool on its free plan or trial. Count three things: people found, work emails returned, and emails with a verified status. Do it on one day, because every vendor refreshes on its own schedule.
Twenty lookups cost at most 20 credits on a one-credit tool. Every free plan below covers that, except where noted.
1. LeadOcean: best for Canadian lists pulled by API, agent or volume
LeadOcean holds 693M people, 366M with an email and 166M with a phone number, plus 67M companies. A free count on 21 October 2026 found 18,473,829 people in Canada with any email status. You can size a Canadian list before you spend a record, because counts are free.
Most of those records have no email we would send to. The default count, which keeps verified, catch-all valid and catch-all addresses, is 3,313,928, about 18% of the total. Size a campaign on the mailable figure, not the headline.
These counts all use country set to CA, run through count_leads on 21 October 2026:
| What we filtered | People |
|---|---|
| Any email status | 18,473,829 |
| With a known email, any status | 9,083,586 |
| Verified, catch-all valid or catch-all email | 3,313,928 |
| Verified work email | 902,965 |
| With a phone number, any email status | 2,484,186 |
You can repeat the test. A search with count=true and limit 1 costs nothing, and the REST total stops at 100,000, so use the MCP count_leads tool for an exact figure.
curl -X POST "https://api.leadocean.io/v1/people/search?count=true" \
-H "x-api-key: $LEADOCEAN_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"country":["CA"],"limit":1}'To find one email, search by company domain, then enrich by person_id with POST /v1/people/enrich and reveal_email set to true. The MCP server at https://api.leadocean.io/mcp signs in with OAuth 2.1 and exposes 13 tools (LeadOcean MCP docs, September 2026).
Pros
- Free counts on every plan, so Canadian coverage is checkable before you spend.
- REST and MCP on every plan, including Free, with 13 MCP tools.
- Agency is $497 a month with 1M enrichments a day, not a per-lookup meter.
- Phones through
GET /v2/people/phone, and a free 404 when an enrichment finds nobody.
Cons
- About 18% of Canadian records carry a mailable email, so read
email_statusbefore you send. - No lookup by name plus domain. Search by company domain first, then enrich by
person_id. - No Chrome extension, sequencer or CRM. The app has an Exports page with a filter builder and CSV download.
Best for: engineers, RevOps teams and agents that pull Canadian lists at volume.
Pricing: Free is 1,000 records, one-off, no card. Solo is $97 a month, Agency $497 and Platform $1,997 (LeadOcean pricing, October 2026).
2. Lead411: best for reps in the US and Canada who want an app and intent data
Lead411 is the one vendor here that names Canada on its coverage list. It lists 13 countries: the United States, Canada, the UK, Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand and Sweden (Lead411 FAQ, September 2026). It gives no Canada count, and its site states no database total either.
Lead411 sells export-capped plans. Spark has verified emails, advanced search and a Chrome extension, but no direct phones or API. Direct phones and API access start on Ignite (Lead411 pricing, September 2026). The MCP server is for approved customers and must be enabled by Lead411 Support (Lead411 API docs, September 2026).
Canada test: the free trial lasts 7 days with 50 exports and no card. That covers your 20 contacts. Filter to Canada and count how many come back with a direct dial as well as an email.
Pros
- Canada is on the published country list.
- Chrome extension and 25+ CRM integrations in the app.
- Buyer intent data, licensed from Bombora, on annual plans.
Cons
- No Canada count, only a country list.
- API starts on Ignite, and no rate limit number is published.
- Unlimited exports are a quote, so there is no public 1M price.
Best for: US and Canadian sales teams that want a rep app with intent data.
Pricing: Spark is $49 a month, or $490 billed yearly. Ignite starts at $150 a month, or $1,500 billed yearly (Lead411 pricing, September 2026).
3. Apollo: best for reps who want a workspace and a free plan

Apollo publishes no Canada count that we found. Its pricing page states 240 million contacts and 30 million companies in total (Apollo pricing, September 2026). Its search filters let you set a country, so you can check Canada inside the app.
Apollo bills per seat with a pooled credit allowance. An email costs 1 credit and a phone number 8, and credits expire each cycle (Apollo API pricing, September 2026). Enrichment endpoints allow 1,000 requests a minute on paid plans (Apollo rate limits, September 2026).
Canada test: the Free plan has 75 credits a month on monthly billing (Apollo pricing, September 2026). Filter by Canada, run your 20 contacts, and compare with the other tools the same day.
Pros
- Free plan with 75 credits and API access on every plan.
- MCP server on any plan, including Free (Apollo MCP docs, September 2026).
- Sequences, a dialer and a Chrome extension in the same workspace.
Cons
- No published Canada or region count.
- Phones cost 8 credits, and unused credits expire each billing cycle.
- At 1M work emails the seat arithmetic reaches $19,600 to $24,750 a month at list price.
Best for: reps who want data, sequences and a dialer in one tool.
Pricing: Basic is $65 a seat a month, or $49 billed yearly. Professional is $99, or $79 billed yearly (Apollo pricing, September 2026).
4. Lusha: best for a free plan to test Canadian contacts

Lusha states 515M+ contacts and 29M+ companies worldwide, and 165M+ verified emails (Lusha data, September 2026). It prints no Canada figure that we found.
An email costs 1 credit and a phone number 5. Every plan, including Free, has an API key (Lusha API guide, September 2026). The MCP server has 50 tools (Lusha MCP docs, September 2026).
Canada test: Free is 40 credits a month with no card (Lusha pricing, September 2026). That covers 40 emails or 8 phone numbers, enough for your 20 contacts.
Pros
- A free plan with an API key.
- A 50-tool MCP server that shares the API credit pool.
- Phone numbers in the same lookup.
Cons
- Free and Starter allow 40 API requests a minute and 100 a day.
- Credits meter every reveal, and no 1M price is public.
- No Canada count on the data page.
Best for: reps and analysts who want a free plan to check Canadian contacts.
Pricing: Starter is $49.90 a month, or $37.45 billed yearly. Premium is $399.90 a month, or $299.95 billed yearly (Lusha pricing, September 2026).
5. Hunter: best for domain lookups with an app and extension
Hunter is built around a domain, which suits Canadian company websites. One credit is one email found, Email Finder verifies the address it returns, and nothing is charged if nothing is found (Hunter help, September 2026). Hunter publishes no Canada count that we found.
The free plan gives 50 credits a month. Starter is $49 a month ($34 billed yearly) for 2,000 credits, and Scale is $299 for 25,000 (Hunter pricing, September 2026). At volume the route is Data Platform, which sells 1,000,000 Search credits for $6,900, bought once and valid 12 months (Hunter Data Platform, September 2026).
Email Finder allows 15 requests a second (Hunter API docs, September 2026). The remote MCP server takes your API key and is included on every plan (Hunter MCP, September 2026).
Canada test: use 20 .ca domains and see how many return a named person with a verified email on the free 50 credits.
Pros
- 15 requests a second on the core endpoints.
- MCP server included on every plan at no extra cost.
- Browser extension and Sheets add-on for reps who skip the API.
- Charges nothing when no email is found.
Cons
- No published Canada figure, and domain-first lookup.
- The top all-in-one plan stops at 25,000 credits a month.
- The 1M price is a one-off purchase, not a monthly bill.
Best for: teams that find emails by domain and want an app and extension beside the API.
Pricing: Free. Starter $49, Growth $149, Scale $299 a month, or less billed yearly (Hunter pricing, September 2026).
6. Prospeo: best for reps who want an extension and pay per user
Prospeo sells an email and mobile finder per user, on credits. One verified email costs 1 credit and one mobile costs 10. A lookup that returns nothing costs nothing, and re-enriching a record within 90 days is free (Prospeo help, September 2026). It publishes no Canada count that we found.
Free has 100 credits a month. Starter is $49 a user a month for 2,000 credits, Growth is $99 for 5,000 and Pro is $249 for 15,000 (Prospeo pricing, September 2026). The Enrich API allows 5 requests a second on Starter and 30 on Pro (Prospeo rate limits, September 2026). The MCP server has 8 tools and signs in with OAuth or an API key (Prospeo MCP docs, September 2026).
Canada test: the 100 free credits cover 20 emails and several mobiles. Whether the Free plan includes API access is unsettled in Prospeo's own pages, so run the test in the app.
Pros
- Chrome extension and CRM sync for reps who prospect in a browser.
- A miss costs no credit.
- MCP signs in with OAuth or a key.
Cons
- Per-user pricing, so a team adds seats and credits together.
- No single tier reaches 1M. The cheapest public path is 44 Pro seats plus a $3,500 add-on.
- Daily caps of 2,000 enrichments on Starter and 5,000 on Growth.
Best for: reps and small teams that want an extension, CRM sync and pay-as-you-go emails.
Pricing: Free. Starter $49, Growth $99, Pro $249 per user a month (Prospeo pricing, September 2026).
7. FullEnrich: best for waterfall emails and mobiles for known names
FullEnrich queries 25+ sources per contact and charges only for what it finds. A work email costs 1 credit, a personal email 3 and a mobile 10. Not found costs 0 (FullEnrich docs, September 2026). It states about an 80% work-email find rate, a vendor claim we did not test, and no Canada count (FullEnrich pricing, September 2026).
It is the only vendor here that names Canada in its data checks. Phones are checked for landline, out-of-service status and owner-name match, for the US and Canada (FullEnrich pricing, September 2026). That is a check on phones, not a count of Canadians.
Pro starts at $29 a month for 500 credits. The top monthly tier is 100,000 credits for $3,500 a month, and above that you contact sales. API, MCP and bulk CSV are on every plan, including the free trial of 50 credits. The API allows 60 calls a minute (FullEnrich docs, September 2026).
Canada test: the 50 trial credits cover 20 emails and two mobiles. Run the two mobiles on contacts you can verify by hand.
Pros
- Waterfall across 25+ sources, so one call covers several vendors.
- Phone owner-name match for US and Canada numbers.
- No charge for not found or landline results.
- API, MCP and unlimited users on every plan.
Cons
- $0.035 a credit even on the top monthly tier.
- No public 1M price, and the API stops at 60 calls a minute.
- Mobiles cost 10 credits, so phone-heavy pulls get costly.
Best for: teams with a known list of Canadian names that want waterfall emails and mobiles.
Pricing: Pro from $29 a month for 500 credits. Enterprise is custom (FullEnrich pricing, September 2026).

LeadOcean wins for API, agent and volume buyers in Canada. Its free count found 18,473,829 people in Canada on 21 October 2026, though only about 18% carry a mailable email. Lead411 wins for US and Canadian reps who want an app and intent data, and Apollo for a workspace on a free plan.
