Dropcontact alternatives

6 Best Dropcontact Alternatives in 2026 (Compared)

Six enrichment and data tools for teams that outgrow a batch email enrichment API and pull records in code, through an agent or at volume, ranked by fit, with list prices and the cost of 1M records a month.

People leave Dropcontact when an enrichment API has to become a data source. It needs a name and a company, a LinkedIn URL or an email as input, and it does not search (Dropcontact API docs, September 2026). The one endpoint takes up to 250 contacts per request, so you POST a batch and then poll for the result.

A credit buys one verified email. Self-serve plans stop at 150,000 credits a month, and Enterprise starts at 200,000 (Dropcontact pricing, September 2026). Credits carry over only on Growth. The API allows 60 requests per second.

This page ranks six Dropcontact API alternatives for API and volume buyers. LeadOcean is first because you can search a database, not only clean a list, at one flat price. For a two-column view, see LeadOcean vs Dropcontact.

"1M records" here means 1M work-email lookups that return a result, one credit each where the vendor uses credits. Where a vendor does not sell that volume, the cell says so and names its top public tier. Ask each vendor for a quote at your volume.

What we evaluated

  • API access: which plan opens it, how you send a lookup, and the default rate limit.
  • MCP: whether an agent can search and enrich through the server, or only read documentation.
  • Price model: flat or credits, and what 1M records a month costs at list price.
  • Data: search filters, email and phone fields, and whether you need to bring the contacts.
  • Limits that bite: plan gates, batch sizes, async polling and expiring credits.

We read each vendor's pricing page and docs in September 2026. We ran no find-rate or accuracy test for this page, so we quote no quality numbers.

1. LeadOcean: best for API, agent and volume buyers

LeadOcean is one dataset behind one REST API and one MCP server. It holds 693M people, 366M with an email and 166M with a phone number, plus 63M companies. You search with 50 people filters and 34 company filters, and counts are free. That is the gap with Dropcontact: you can build the list, not only clean it.

Enrichment is one call. POST /v1/people/enrich takes a linkedin_url, an email, a phone or a person_id and returns the answer in the same response. There is no batch to submit and no polling loop. Phones are GET /v2/people/phone, and exports run up to 50,000 rows per request.

bash
curl -X POST "https://api.leadocean.io/v1/people/enrich" \
  -H "x-api-key: $LEADOCEAN_API_KEY" \
  -H "content-type: application/json" \
  -d '{"linkedin_url":"https://www.linkedin.com/in/jane-doe","reveal_email":true}'

The price does not move with volume. Pro is $499 a month with unlimited searches, enrichments and lookups, 5 API keys and 100 requests per second per key. There are no credits and no overage invoice. A very large month is paced down to one request a minute until the reset, not cut off.

The MCP server at https://api.leadocean.io/mcp signs in with OAuth 2.1 and exposes 12 tools, from search_leads to find_phone and export_leads. Claude, Cursor or your own agent can pull records directly. Dropcontact's MCP server enriches a contact or validates an email. This one also searches, and count_leads is free.

Pros

  • Flat $499 a month at any volume, with no credit meter.
  • Search and enrichment in one API, with 50 people filters and free counts.
  • One call per answer. No 250-contact batches and no polling.
  • REST and MCP on every plan, including Free.
  • Email status on every record, from verified to spam_trap.

Cons

  • It does not take a name and a company as input. You send a LinkedIn URL, an email, a phone or an ID.
  • No HubSpot or Pipedrive connector and no Google Sheets add-on. You work in the API, MCP or the app's export page.
  • We make no EU-hosting claim on this page, so ask support if residency is a hard rule.

Best for: engineers, RevOps and agents that need search, volume and a fixed bill.

Pricing: Free is 1,000 records, one-off, no card. Pro is $499 a month, flat (LeadOcean pricing, September 2026).

2. LeadMagic: best for a low per-credit price and free search in the app

LeadMagic is a credit-based enrichment API. It lists 400M+ people profiles and 25M+ companies, and reaches them through REST, CSV, a command-line tool and a hosted MCP server (LeadMagic, September 2026). Failed lookups cost nothing. It is the closest swap for Dropcontact's pay-on-success model.

The credit price falls as you climb the plans. Essential is $99 a month for 5,000 credits. Professional is $499 for 50,000. Ultimate is $849 for 100,000, or $0.00849 a credit (LeadMagic pricing, September 2026). A valid email costs 1 credit and a mobile costs 5.

Searching in the app spends no credits on any paid plan. On Essential and Growth the search API bills about 1 credit per returned person, and nothing when no results come back. Professional and Ultimate get zero-credit search at 5 and 10 requests a second (LeadMagic docs, September 2026). Export is capped per day, at 10,000 rows on Essential. The Email Finder endpoint allows 600 requests a minute. A sustained find rate below 10% can lead to throttling or suspension (LeadMagic docs, September 2026). The MCP server uses OAuth, and a preview_cost call shows the price of a large job first (LeadMagic docs, September 2026).

Pros

  • The lowest per-credit list price among the credit tools here, apart from Icypeas.
  • No charge when an email is not found.
  • Searching in the app spends no credits, and Professional and Ultimate get zero-credit search by API.
  • Hosted MCP with a cost preview before large operations.

Cons

  • The top self-serve plan is 100,000 credits, so 1M a month needs an Enterprise quote.
  • A smaller stated database: 400M+ people profiles.
  • A minimum find-rate policy can throttle lists with poor match rates.
  • On Essential and Growth, each person returned by the search API costs about 1 credit.

Best for: teams that enrich a few hundred thousand valid emails a month and want cheap credits with search attached.

Pricing: Essential $99, Growth $249, Professional $499, Ultimate $849 a month (LeadMagic pricing, September 2026).

3. Icypeas: best for cheap found emails from a name and a domain

Icypeas is a French email finder and verifier sold in credits. Email Finder costs 1 credit per found email, the verifier 0.1 credit, and Find People 0.02 credit per result (Icypeas pricing, September 2026). Credits never expire. The pricing page lists API access, catch-all verification and MCP on every plan, and says it finds emails from open sources.

Entry prices are low. Basic is $19 a month for 1,000 credits. Premium is $39 for 4,000, Advanced is $89 for 10,000 and Hypergrowth is $499 for 100,000. That last plan costs the same as LeadOcean Pro and buys 100,000 found emails. Above it, the credit selector lists 200,000 credits at $998, 500,000 at $2,245.50 and 1,000,000 at $3,992 a month. The 10M tier is $34,930 (Icypeas pricing, September 2026).

Icypeas is built for single lookups, and the pace shows. Email search allows 10 calls a second. Bulk search takes up to 5,000 rows per call, at 1 call a second, and it is asynchronous (Icypeas docs, September 2026). You submit, then poll by id, as with Dropcontact. The hosted MCP server has 21 tools and signs in with your API key (Icypeas guide, September 2026).

Pros

  • The lowest entry price here, from $19 a month.
  • Credits never expire, even if you downgrade or cancel.
  • Catch-all verification is included, and the MCP server covers find, verify and search.
  • Search results cost 0.02 credit each, so narrowing a list is cheap.

Cons

  • The Phone Finder is listed as coming soon.
  • Bulk search is async, 5,000 rows per call and one call a second.
  • No monthly price is listed above 10M credits.
  • Search has 10+ people filters and 9 company filters, far fewer than a database API.

Best for: teams that know the name and the domain and want the cheapest found emails.

Pricing: Basic $19, Premium $39, Advanced $89, Hypergrowth $499 a month (Icypeas pricing, September 2026).

4. FullEnrich: best for waterfall emails and mobiles behind an API

FullEnrich asks 25+ sources for each contact and charges only for data it finds (FullEnrich pricing, September 2026). Its pricing page lists API access, people and company search and an MCP server on Pro. It also lists GDPR, CCPA and SOC 2 Type II.

Credits are the meter. A work email costs 1 credit, a personal email 3 and a mobile 10. Pro starts at $29 a month for 500 credits ($0.058 each). The 1,000-credit tier is $55 ($0.055 each), and the top public monthly tier is 100,000 credits for $3,500 ($0.035 each). Above that, contact sales. Search costs 0.25 credits per person returned (FullEnrich docs, September 2026). Credits roll over for 3 months on monthly plans.

The API allows 60 calls a minute, with up to 100 contacts in a bulk request. Custom limits are an Enterprise feature (FullEnrich docs, September 2026). The MCP server can search, enrich and export, and it asks you before it spends credits (FullEnrich help, September 2026).

Pros

  • Waterfall across 25+ sources, so one call can cover several vendors.
  • Search, enrichment and export in the MCP server.
  • SOC 2 Type II, GDPR and CCPA listed on the pricing page.
  • Credits roll over for 3 months on monthly plans.

Cons

  • Mobiles cost 10 credits each, so phone-heavy pulls get expensive fast.
  • The default API limit is 60 calls a minute, slower than Dropcontact's 60 per second.
  • No public price at 1M. The top public monthly tier is 100,000 credits, and above that you contact sales.

Best for: teams that want waterfall contact data, mostly emails and mobiles, through an API or an agent.

Pricing: Pro from $29 a month for 500 credits to $3,500 a month for 100,000. The yearly toggle lists 1,200,000 credits a year for $37,800. Enterprise is custom (FullEnrich pricing, September 2026).

5. Findymail: best for verified emails with a bounce guarantee

Findymail is an email finder that verifies each address when you ask for it. It bills one credit per email found and 10 per phone number, and nothing when it finds no verified email (Findymail API docs, September 2026). Its pricing page advertises a bounce guarantee.

Findymail's pricing page blocks automated reading, so we show no plan prices here. See its pricing page for current plans and any volume quote. The phone endpoint returns US numbers only, and returns nothing for EU citizens.

For agents, Findymail ships an official MCP server with 14 tools (Findymail plugin, September 2026). The API allows 300 concurrent requests. Search is a plain-language query capped at 5,000 companies, not a structured filter set.

Pros

  • Every email is verified when requested, and misses are free.
  • A bounce guarantee advertised on its pricing page.
  • Official MCP server with 14 tools.
  • 300 concurrent requests, so a batch does not queue behind a per-minute cap.

Cons

  • Phones are US only at 10 credits each.
  • No structured people filters in the docs.

Best for: outbound teams and agencies that want verified emails with a guarantee.

Pricing: Not published here. Findymail's pricing page blocks automated reading, so see its pricing page for current prices.

6. BetterContact: best for a waterfall with EU data residency

BetterContact is a waterfall that asks 20+ data providers for an email or a mobile and charges only for valid results. Its pricing page lists GDPR and CCPA compliance and EU data residency (BetterContact pricing, September 2026). For a buyer who chose Dropcontact for EU processing, that is the nearest match here.

The meter is credits. One email is 1 credit and one mobile is 10. Starter is $15 a month for 200 credits. Pro is $49 for 1,000 credits ($0.049 each). The top public step is 50,000 credits for $1,999 a month ($0.03998 each). Enterprise starts at $799 a month on a custom quote (BetterContact pricing, September 2026). API access is on every plan.

Volume is the limit. The API allows 100 requests a minute on Starter and 200 on Pro, counted across all endpoints. A client that retries too hard can be blocked (BetterContact docs, September 2026). Enrichment is asynchronous, with batches of up to 100 leads. We found no MCP server in its API index (BetterContact docs, September 2026).

Pros

  • A true waterfall across 20+ providers.
  • EU data residency and GDPR listed on the pricing page.
  • Pay only for valid results, with lead and company finder endpoints in the API.

Cons

  • Mobiles cost 10 credits each.
  • 100 to 200 API requests a minute, and a block if you retry too hard.
  • No MCP server found, so an agent needs your own wrapper.
  • Async batches of 100 leads, so 1M records is 10,000 batch calls.

Best for: teams that want waterfall contact data on lists they own, with EU residency, and will stay on credits.

Pricing: Starter $15 a month, Pro from $49 a month for 1,000 credits, Enterprise from $799 (BetterContact pricing, September 2026).

Sources are linked in each tool section, all checked in September 2026. Vendors change plans often, so confirm on the pricing page before you buy. The 1M column is list price on email lookups where a vendor sells that volume. Icypeas uses its published 1M tier. LeadMagic, FullEnrich and BetterContact have no public price at 1M, so the table shows each one's top public tier. Findymail's pricing page blocks automated reading, so the table carries no price for it.

How to choose

  • You pull data in code or with an agent, at volume: LeadOcean. One flat price, REST and MCP on every plan, one call per answer.
  • You need to search for people, not only clean a list: LeadOcean, or LeadMagic if you want credits and free search in the app.
  • You buy found emails by the hundred thousand: Icypeas at $0.00499 a credit on Hypergrowth, or LeadMagic at $0.00849 on Ultimate.
  • You need waterfall emails and mobiles: FullEnrich, and budget 10 credits per mobile.
  • Bounces are your main cost: Findymail, for its bounce guarantee.
  • EU data residency is a hard rule: BetterContact, or stay on Dropcontact.
  • You clean a CRM or need native HubSpot and Pipedrive sync: stay on Dropcontact. None of these six match its connectors.

Verdict

LeadOcean wins for API, agent and volume buyers. It searches as well as enriches, answers in one call and stays at $499 a month at any volume. LeadMagic is the runner-up for cheap valid emails with free app search, and Icypeas is the cheapest per found email. FullEnrich wins for waterfall mobiles, Findymail for a bounce guarantee and BetterContact for a waterfall with EU residency. Stay on Dropcontact if you clean a CRM list and need its French company data and native connectors. Otherwise start on the free plan and compare the same lookups.

FAQ

Why do teams leave Dropcontact?

Shape and scale. The API enriches contacts you send and does not search. Each request is a batch of up to 250 that you poll for the result (Dropcontact API docs, September 2026). Self-serve plans top out at 150,000 credits a month. Teams that need search or millions of lookups move to a database API.

What is the best Dropcontact API alternative?

For API and volume buyers, LeadOcean. It searches 693M people and 63M companies, answers each lookup in one call and costs $499 a month flat. LeadMagic is the closest credit-based swap if you want pay-on-success emails with free search in the app.

What does Dropcontact cost at 1M records a month?

Dropcontact does not publish a price at that volume. It charges one credit per verified email. Self-serve plans stop at 150,000 credits, and Enterprise starts at 200,000 a month on a custom quote (Dropcontact pricing, September 2026). Tier prices are in euros and sit behind a credit slider that does not show each tier's price as text, so see its pricing page for current prices.

Which Dropcontact alternative has an MCP server that returns data?

LeadOcean, LeadMagic, Icypeas, FullEnrich and Findymail all do. We found no MCP server for BetterContact. Dropcontact's own server enriches a contact or validates an email and does not search (Dropcontact docs, September 2026).

Which alternatives keep data processing in the EU?

Dropcontact says it processes data on EU-based servers (Dropcontact pricing, September 2026). BetterContact lists EU data residency, FullEnrich lists GDPR, and Icypeas says it is GDPR compliant. We make no EU-hosting claim for LeadOcean here. Ask each vendor for its data processing agreement.

Do I need a credit card to try LeadOcean?

No. The free plan needs a work email and no card. It gives you 1,000 records, one-off, with the same API and MCP server as Pro. See pricing.
