An email finder returns a person's business email from a name and company, a LinkedIn URL or a stored ID. Reply.io users need one for API and agent workflows. Reply's docs say API search over its 1B+ contact database is not generally available yet, and neither is waterfall enrichment. They tell you to bring your own list (Reply docs, October 2026).
So the finder you pick decides your bounce rate before the first step goes out. This page ranks seven finders on that, then on API, MCP, rate limits and the list price of 1M lookups. Most have a comparison page: Anymail Finder, FullEnrich, Hunter, Icypeas, LeadMagic and Prospeo. New to the category? Read what an email finder is first.
TL;DR

"1M records" means 1M work-email lookups that return a result, at list price, one credit each where the vendor uses credits. Where a vendor sells no plan at 1M, the cell shows its top public tier or cheapest public path, not a price. Verification is extra at some vendors.
What we evaluated
- Bounce protection: whether the email is checked before you pay, what a miss costs and whether the vendor takes bounce reports.
- Fit with Reply.io: how cleanly the output reaches Reply's import API, which takes up to 1,000 contacts per request (Reply docs, October 2026).
- API and MCP: which plan opens the API, the default rate limit and whether an agent can run lookups.
- Price model: flat, credits or seats, and the list price of 1M work-email lookups a month.
- Limits that bite: plan ceilings, bulk caps and what a verification step adds to the bill.
We read each vendor's pricing page and docs in September 2026 and Reply's docs in October 2026. We ran no find-rate or bounce test for this page, so we quote none of our own. A number a vendor publishes is labeled a vendor claim.
1. Anymail Finder: best for paying only for verified emails
Anymail Finder charges 1 credit only when it finds a valid email. A search that finds no verified email is free, and a repeat search or verification within 30 days is free too. A decision-maker search costs 2 credits, and verifying an email you already hold costs 0.2 credits (Anymail Finder pricing, September 2026).
That billing model fits a Reply sender. You never pay for an address it could not confirm, so the list that reaches Reply starts clean. A verified email that bounces can be reported for a credit back after review, under a 97%+ delivery guarantee.
Monthly plans run from $29 for 400 credits to $799 for 100,000. Past that you buy one-time packs, and the 1,000,000-credit pack is $4,990. The API docs state no rate limits and no daily call caps (Anymail Finder API docs, September 2026). The MCP server has five actions, from finding a person's email to verifying one (Anymail Finder MCP, September 2026).
Pros
- You pay only for emails it verified, and misses are free.
- A bounce credit after review, which no other finder here offers.
- No rate limits stated in the API docs.
- Unlimited team members share one credit pool.
Cons
- No database search. You bring the names and domains.
- The largest monthly plan is 100,000 credits for $799.
- The MCP server does not cover bulk files or webhooks.
Best for: Reply senders with a known list of names and domains who want a bounce guarantee.
Pricing: $29 to $799 a month, or one-time packs up to $4,990 for 1,000,000 credits (Anymail Finder pricing, September 2026).
2. LeadOcean: best for building a Reply list by filter at volume
LeadOcean is a people and company database behind one REST API and one MCP server. It holds 693M people, 366M with an email and 166M with a phone number, plus 67M companies. You search with 50 people filters, size the list for free, then pull emails from the same records.
For Reply, the useful part is the filter. emailStatus narrows a search to the deliverability values you accept, and every record carries one of 13 statuses, from verified to spam_trap. LeadOcean does not refund bounced emails, so you read email_status before you send and run Reply's own validation on the list.
curl -X POST "https://api.leadocean.io/v1/people/search?count=true&limit=1" \
-H "x-api-key: $LEADOCEAN_API_KEY" \
-H "content-type: application/json" \
-d '{"jobLevel":["VP"],"jobFunction":["Sales & Business Development"],"country":["CA"]}'The call above returns a free count in meta.total, capped at 100,000. Free is 1,000 records for life with no card. Solo is $97 a month with 50 requests a second and bulk CSV export. Agency is $497 a month with 200 requests a second, 5 keys and 1M enrichments a day (LeadOcean pricing, October 2026). Paid plans have a fair-use pace, not credits.
The MCP server at https://api.leadocean.io/mcp signs in with OAuth 2.1 and exposes 13 tools (LeadOcean MCP docs, October 2026). Bulk CSV export is not on Free. The next section covers the three-step path into Reply.
Pros
- Search by 50 people filters, then take emails from the same database.
- Counts are free, so you size a Reply list before you spend a record.
- Flat $497 a month at 1M, with no credit meter and no overage invoice.
- REST and MCP on every plan, including Free.
Cons
- No lookup by name plus domain. Search by company domain first, then enrich by
person_id. - No bounce refund. You read the stored
email_statusand decide what to send. - The v2 contact endpoints cost one record per call, including a call that finds nothing.
- No Chrome extension, sequencer or CRM. The app has an Exports page with CSV download.
Best for: RevOps and outbound engineers who build Reply lists by title and country, or run lookups from code or an agent.
Pricing: Free is 1,000 records, one-off. Solo $97, Agency $497 and Platform $1,997 a month (LeadOcean pricing, October 2026).
LeadOcean to Reply.io in 3 steps
- Size the list. Run the search above with
count=true. It is free and tells you how many people match before you export anything. - Pull emails with a status filter. Add
emailStatusto the search, then export withPOST /v1/exportsor the Exports page in the app. Request theemail_N_addressandemail_N_statuscolumns. The CSV comes back withemail_1_address,email_1_statusand so on. - Import, then validate. Send the rows to Reply with
POST /v3/contacts/import, 1,000 items per request, skipExistingon and alistIdstarget. Then schedule Reply's email validation on that list before any step sends (Reply docs, October 2026).
Reply's validation returns an estimate of the credits a job needs before it runs (Reply docs, October 2026).
3. FullEnrich: best for waterfall emails when one source misses
FullEnrich queries 25+ sources per contact and charges for what it finds. A work email costs 1 credit, a personal email 3 and a mobile 10. Not found costs 0 (FullEnrich docs, September 2026). It states about an 80% work-email find rate and says verification removes about 30% of raw data, both vendor claims we did not test (FullEnrich pricing, September 2026).
Reply lists waterfall enrichment as coming soon, so FullEnrich fills that gap today. It also fits a Reply list that came from LinkedIn exports with missing emails.
Pro starts at $29 a month for 500 credits. The top monthly tier is 100,000 credits for $3,500 a month, and above that you contact sales. API, MCP and bulk CSV are on every plan. The API allows 60 calls a minute, with up to 100 contacts per bulk request (FullEnrich docs, September 2026).
Pros
- Waterfall across 25+ sources, so one call covers several vendors.
- Verification is part of the product, and not found costs nothing.
- API, MCP and unlimited users on every plan.
- A HubSpot integration for teams that sync CRM data before Reply.
Cons
- The highest credit price here, at $0.035 on the top monthly tier.
- No public 1M price.
- 60 API calls a minute is the lowest default limit on this page.
- Mobiles cost 10 credits, so phone-heavy pulls get costly.
Best for: teams that enrich thin lists and want fewer misses before they import to Reply.
Pricing: Pro from $29 a month for 500 credits. Enterprise is custom (FullEnrich pricing, September 2026).
4. Hunter: best for domain lookups with verification built in
Hunter is built around a domain. One credit is one email found, Email Finder verifies the address it returns, and nothing is charged when nothing is found. A separate Email Verifier costs 0.5 credit per check (Hunter help, September 2026).
Free gives 50 credits a month. Starter is $49 a month ($34 billed yearly) for 2,000 credits, Growth is $149 for 10,000 and Scale is $299 for 25,000 (Hunter pricing, September 2026). At volume the route is Data Platform, which sells 1,000,000 Search credits for $6,900, bought once and valid 12 months. Verification credits are sold separately, from $11 per 1,000 (Hunter Data Platform, September 2026).
Limits are per endpoint, not per plan. Email Finder and Domain Search allow 15 requests a second. A rate-limited call gets a 403, not a 429 (Hunter API docs, September 2026). The remote MCP server at https://mcp.hunter.io/mcp is included in every plan (Hunter MCP, September 2026).
Pros
- Email Finder verifies what it returns, and misses are free.
- 15 requests a second on the core endpoints.
- MCP server included on every plan.
- A browser extension for reps who do not use the API.
Cons
- The top all-in-one plan stops at 25,000 credits a month.
- Domain-first. To build a list by title or seniority, you page through domains.
- The 1M price is a one-off purchase, and verification credits come on top.
Best for: reps who find emails by domain and want the check done in the same call.
Pricing: Free. Starter $49, Growth $149, Scale $299 a month, or less billed yearly (Hunter pricing, September 2026).
5. Icypeas: best for low credit price with catch-all checks
Icypeas charges 1 credit per email found, and a search that finds nothing costs nothing. Verification is 0.1 credit, the cheapest standalone check on this page (Icypeas docs, September 2026). Every plan includes catch-all verification, which matters because catch-all domains are where Reply senders see surprise bounces.
Basic is $19 a month for 1,000 credits. Hypergrowth starts at $499 for 100,000. The credit selector lists a 1,000,000-credit tier at $3,992 a month, or $39,920 for 12M credits billed yearly (Icypeas pricing, September 2026). The selector is hidden in the text view of the page, so check it live before you budget.
Email search allows 10 calls a second. Bulk search takes up to 5,000 rows per call at 1 call a second (Icypeas docs, September 2026). The hosted MCP server at https://mcp.icypeas.com/mcp lists 21 tools and signs in with your API key (Icypeas MCP guide, September 2026).
Pros
- The lowest public 1M price on this page after LeadOcean, with no charge for misses.
- API, MCP and catch-all verification on every plan.
- Credits roll over, so a quiet month is not lost.
- A verifier at 0.1 credit for lists you bring.
Cons
- Phone Finder is listed as coming soon, so there are no mobiles.
- 10 calls a second on email search is slower than Hunter's 15.
- No database search by filter. You bring the names.
Best for: teams that know the name and domain and want cheap, verified emails at volume.
Pricing: Basic $19, Premium $39, Advanced $89 and Hypergrowth $499 a month. 50 free credits on signup (Icypeas pricing, September 2026).
6. LeadMagic: best for cheap credits plus a separate validator
LeadMagic is a credit-based enrichment API. A valid email costs 1 credit and a miss is free. Email Validation costs 0.25 credit on a valid or invalid result, and an unknown result is free (LeadMagic pricing, September 2026).
The validator is the reason it is on this list. You can run a list you already hold through it before it reaches Reply, without buying new lookups.
Essential is $99 a month for 5,000 credits. Ultimate is $849 for 100,000, or $0.00849 a credit. Self-serve stops there, and LeadMagic has no free plan. Email Finder is capped at 600 requests a minute, about 10 a second (LeadMagic docs, September 2026). It has a hosted MCP server with OAuth sign-in only, so static API keys do not work (LeadMagic MCP, September 2026).
Pros
- A validator that charges nothing for unknown results.
- No charge when an email is not found.
- Mobile, personal email and people search in the same API.
- Hosted MCP server.
Cons
- No public price at 1M. Past 100,000 credits you need an Enterprise quote.
- No free plan or trial credits.
- OAuth-only MCP, so a headless job cannot use a static key.
Best for: teams that buy valid emails by the hundred thousand and want a cheap second check.
Pricing: Essential $99, Growth $249, Professional $499, Ultimate $849 a month (LeadMagic pricing, September 2026).
7. Prospeo: best for reps who want an extension and pay per user
Prospeo sells an email and mobile finder per user, on credits. It has a REST API, a Chrome extension and CRM sync. One verified email costs 1 credit, a lookup that returns nothing costs nothing, and re-enriching the same record within 90 days is free (Prospeo help, September 2026).
Free has 100 credits a month. Paid plans are priced per user: Starter is $49 a month for 2,000 credits, Growth is $99 for 5,000 and Pro is $249 for 15,000 (Prospeo pricing, September 2026). Billed yearly, Starter is $37 a month.
The Enrich API allows 5 requests a second on Starter and 30 on Pro. Daily caps run from 2,000 on Starter to 500,000 on Pro (Prospeo rate limits, September 2026). The MCP server exposes 8 tools and signs in with OAuth 2.0 or an API key (Prospeo MCP docs, September 2026).
Pros
- Chrome extension and CRM sync for reps who prospect in a browser.
- Only verified emails are billed, and repeat enrichment is free for 90 days.
- MCP signs in with OAuth or a key.
Cons
- Per-user pricing, so a team adds seats and credits together.
- No single tier reaches 1M. The cheapest public path is $14,456 a month.
- Daily caps of 2,000 on Starter and 5,000 on Growth.
Best for: individual reps who want an extension and pay as they go.
Pricing: Free. Starter $49, Growth $99, Pro $249 per user a month (Prospeo pricing, September 2026).

How to choose
- You want the strongest bounce protection: Anymail Finder. It bills only verified emails and takes bounce reports.
- You build lists by title, seniority and country: LeadOcean. Search, size and export in one place, then validate in Reply.
- Your lists have gaps from LinkedIn exports: FullEnrich. Its waterfall fills misses before import.
- You work domain by domain: Hunter. The check runs inside the same lookup.
- You run 1M lookups a month on a budget: Icypeas at $3,992 a month, or LeadOcean at $497 a month if you accept a stored status and validate in Reply.
- You already hold a list and only need a second check: LeadMagic's validator or Icypeas's 0.1 credit verifier.
- You are one rep who prospects in a browser: Prospeo's extension.
Verdict
Anymail Finder wins for a Reply sender who cares most about bounces, because it bills only verified emails and takes bounce reports. LeadOcean wins for anyone who builds the list by filter or runs lookups from code, since search, free counts and a flat $497 a month sit behind one API. FullEnrich wins when thin lists need a waterfall, Hunter when you start from a domain, and Icypeas when credit price at volume decides. Whichever finder you pick, schedule Reply's email validation on the imported list before the first step sends.
FAQ
Does Reply.io find emails for me?
Reply's docs describe a 1B+ contact database, but list prospect search through the API and waterfall enrichment as coming soon. For API and agent workflows they say to bring your own list (Reply docs, October 2026). Import and email validation are available today.
How do I get emails into Reply.io?
Use CSV import in the app or POST /v3/contacts/import, which takes up to 1,000 items per request with dedupe and list assignment (Reply docs, October 2026). Send a CSV from any finder here after you map the columns.
Should I verify emails twice?
Yes, if bounces cost you a sending domain. Use a finder that checks at lookup, then run Reply's validation on the final list. The second pass catches addresses that went stale between the lookup and the send.
Which finder has the lowest 1M price?
LeadOcean at $497 a month on Agency, with fair use applying. Icypeas is next at $3,992 a month. Anymail Finder's 1M pack is $4,990 once. FullEnrich and LeadMagic publish no 1M price.
Can an AI agent run the lookups?
Yes. All seven offer an MCP server. LeadOcean exposes 13 tools, Icypeas 21 and Prospeo 8, while Anymail Finder offers 5 actions. Sign-in differs: LeadMagic is OAuth only, and Hunter and Icypeas take an API key.
Does LeadOcean refund bounced emails?
No. LeadOcean does not credit back bounces, so read email_status on each record and validate the list in Reply before you send. Anymail Finder is the only finder here that takes bounce reports for a credit.
