7 Best Email Finder Tools for Africa in 2026

Seven email finders ranked on one question, how much of Africa they cover, with a free coverage test for each tool and the list price of 1M lookups.

An email finder returns a person's business email address from a name and company, a LinkedIn URL or a stored ID. Sales teams, agencies and agent builders who sell into Africa need one that actually holds African people. Most finders print no African figure at all.

None of the six rivals below prints a count for the continent that we could find. Lusha shows a shaded coverage map by country with no numbers. LeadOcean gives an exact free count by country on demand. For the others, the only fair test is to run your own contacts through each free tier.

This page ranks seven finders on African coverage alone, with list prices checked in September 2026. Read each rival on its own page: Lusha, Hunter, Icypeas, Anymail Finder, Prospeo and FullEnrich. New to the category? Read what an email finder is first.

"1M records" means 1M work-email lookups that return a result, at list price, one credit each where the vendor uses credits. Where a vendor sells no plan at 1M, the cell shows its top public tier or cheapest public path, not a price.

What we evaluated

  • Published Africa coverage: whether the vendor prints a count for the continent or for countries such as South Africa, Nigeria, Egypt and Kenya.
  • Free coverage test: what you can run for nothing to learn your own hit rate on African contacts before you pay.
  • How the tool finds a person: search by country and title, or lookup by name and domain. Lookup needs you to bring the African names.
  • API and MCP: which plan opens the API, the rate limit, and whether an agent can run lookups.
  • Price at volume: the list price of 1M work-email lookups a month, and what a miss costs.

We read each vendor's pricing page and docs in September 2026. We ran no find-rate or accuracy test, so we quote none.

1. LeadOcean: best for API, agent and volume buyers

LeadOcean is a people and company database behind one REST API and one MCP server. It holds 693M people, 366M with an email and 166M with a phone number, plus 67M companies. Africa is a filter, so you size the market before you spend a record.

We ran count_leads on 2026-10-21. It found 25,262,919 people in Africa. Of those, 6,879,408 hold an email of any status, and 1,739,308 hold a verified, catch-all valid or catch-all email. That is the mailable count. Africa is thinner on email than the database overall: about 27% of African people hold an email, against about 53% across all 693M.

CountryPeopleMailable email
South Africa5,679,478623,322
Nigeria3,748,676213,509
Egypt2,640,982205,565
Kenya1,753,906105,140

Counts are free and spend no records. The same check runs over REST.

bash
curl "https://api.leadocean.io/v1/people/search?country=ZA&count=true&limit=1" \
  -H "x-api-key: $LEADOCEAN_API_KEY"

The MCP server at https://api.leadocean.io/mcp signs in with OAuth 2.1. It exposes 13 tools, from search_leads to export_leads (LeadOcean MCP docs, October 2026). Work emails are also at GET /v2/people/email/work.

Africa coverage test. Run count_leads for your countries and titles. It is free and exact. Then enrich 25 African contacts on the Free plan, which gives 1,000 records for life, and read email_status on each.

Pros

  • An exact, free count by country, with an email status filter. No other tool here offers one.
  • Search by title, seniority and country, then pull the email from the same record.
  • Paid plans have a fair-use pace, not credits. A very large month slows, it does not stop.
  • REST and MCP on every plan, including Free.

Cons

  • Only about 27% of African people hold an email, so the mailable African table is 1,739,308 people.
  • No lookup by name plus domain. Search by company domain first, then enrich by person_id.
  • No live check against the mail server. You read the stored email_status and decide what to send.
  • No Chrome extension, sequencer or CRM. The app has an Exports page with a filter builder and CSV download.

Best for: engineers, RevOps and agents that need to size and pull African contacts at volume.

Pricing: Free is 1,000 records, one-off, no card. Solo is $97 a month, Agency is $497 a month and Platform is $1,997 a month (LeadOcean pricing, October 2026).

2. Lusha: best for a large global table with an API on every plan

lusha homepage

Lusha publishes a global table of 515M+ verified contacts and 29M+ companies. Its data page shades a world map by coverage band, but prints no count for Africa or for any African country (Lusha data page, October 2026).

Lusha does not say how many African contacts hold an email or a phone. An email costs 1 credit and a phone 5 (Lusha API docs, September 2026). The MCP server has 50 tools and shares the API credit pool (Lusha MCP docs, September 2026).

Africa coverage test. Free gives 40 credits a month. Look up 25 African contacts and count the emails returned. API search on Free is capped at 100 calls a day.

Pros

  • A published global table of 515M+ verified contacts and 29M+ companies.
  • Every plan includes an API key, Free included.
  • MCP server with 50 tools.

Cons

  • Credits end at a small plan. Premium tops out at 10,000 credits a month, so 1M lookups has no public price.
  • No published Africa or country count, and no split of email and phone.
  • A phone costs 5 credits, which makes phone-heavy African pulls expensive.

Best for: teams that sell into Africa and other regions and work in small batches.

Pricing: Free $0 for 40 credits a month. Starter $49.90 a month ($37.45 billed yearly). Pro $69.90 ($52.45). Premium $399.90 ($299.95) (Lusha pricing, September 2026).

3. Hunter: best for domain lookups on known African companies

Hunter is built around a domain. One credit is one email found, and nothing is charged if nothing is found (Hunter help, September 2026). We found no Africa or country coverage figure on its site. For Africa, that makes the domain the unit: if you hold the company website, you can test it.

The free plan gives 50 credits a month. Starter is $49 a month ($34 billed yearly) for 2,000 credits, Growth is $149 for 10,000 and Scale is $299 for 25,000 (Hunter pricing, September 2026). At volume the route is Data Platform, which sells 1,000,000 Search credits for $6,900, bought once and valid 12 months (Hunter Data Platform, September 2026).

Email Finder and Domain Search allow 15 requests a second (Hunter API docs, September 2026). The remote MCP server at https://mcp.hunter.io/mcp takes your Hunter API key and is included in every plan (Hunter MCP, September 2026).

Africa coverage test. Take 25 African company domains, run Domain Search on the free plan and count the domains that return at least one address. A free domain miss costs nothing.

Pros

  • A miss costs no credit, so a coverage test on African domains is cheap.
  • MCP server included on every plan.
  • 15 requests a second on the core endpoints.

Cons

  • No published Africa or country coverage figure.
  • Domain-first. To build an African list by title or seniority, you page through domains yourself.
  • The top all-in-one plan stops at 25,000 credits a month, and the 1M price is a one-off purchase.

Best for: teams that already hold African company domains and want an app and extension beside the API.

Pricing: Free. Starter $49, Growth $149, Scale $299 a month, or less billed yearly (Hunter pricing, September 2026).

4. Icypeas: best for cheap verified emails on African names you hold

Icypeas charges 1 credit per email found. A search that finds nothing costs nothing (Icypeas docs, September 2026). It prints no Africa figure. Its email finder takes a first name, a last name and a domain or company, so you must bring the African contacts.

Basic is $19 a month for 1,000 credits ($15.83 billed yearly). Hypergrowth starts at $499 for 100,000. Its credit selector lists a 1,000,000-credit tier at $3,992 a month, plus VAT (Icypeas pricing, September 2026).

Email search allows 10 calls a second (Icypeas docs, September 2026). The hosted MCP server lists 21 tools and signs in with your API key (Icypeas MCP guide, September 2026).

Africa coverage test. Signup gives 50 free credits. Run 25 African names with their domains and keep the found rate. Misses are free, so the test costs only the hits.

Pros

  • The lowest public 1M price of the credit tools here.
  • API, MCP and catch-all verification on every plan.
  • Credits roll over.

Cons

  • No published Africa or country coverage figure.
  • No database search by country or title. You bring the names.
  • 10 calls a second on email search is slow for a large African pull.
  • Phone Finder is listed as coming soon, so there are no mobiles.

Best for: teams that hold African names and domains and want cheap, verified emails at volume.

Pricing: Basic $19, Premium $39, Advanced $89 and Hypergrowth $499 a month. 50 free credits on signup (Icypeas pricing, September 2026).

5. Anymail Finder: best for live-verified emails, billed only when valid

Anymail Finder verifies an address live and charges 1 credit only when it finds a valid one. A search that finds no verified email is free, and a repeat within 30 days is free (Anymail Finder pricing, September 2026). For Africa that billing rule matters: a thin market means many misses, and you do not pay for them.

It prints no Africa figure and has no database search. You supply a person, a company or a decision-maker category. Monthly plans run from $29 for 400 credits to $799 for 100,000. The 1,000,000-credit pack is $4,990, valid 12 months.

The API docs state no rate limits and no daily call caps (Anymail Finder API docs, September 2026). The MCP server has five actions and signs in without a key (Anymail Finder MCP, September 2026).

Africa coverage test. You get 100 free credits when you verify a card, and the card is not charged. Run 25 African decision makers by company and keep the verified rate.

Pros

  • Pay only for emails it verifies, so low African hit rates cost nothing extra.
  • The 1M-credit pack is the second-cheapest 1M price here.
  • No rate limits stated in the API docs.

Cons

  • No published Africa or country coverage figure.
  • No database search. You must bring the people or companies.

Best for: teams with a list of African companies that want live-verified emails and a pay-on-valid rule.

Pricing: $29 to $799 a month, or one-time packs up to $4,990 for 1,000,000 credits (Anymail Finder pricing, September 2026).

6. Prospeo: best for reps who want an extension and pay per user

Prospeo sells an email and mobile finder per user, on credits. It has a REST API, a Chrome extension and CRM sync. One verified email costs 1 credit and one mobile 10. A lookup that returns nothing costs nothing (Prospeo help, September 2026). It prints no Africa figure.

Free has 100 credits a month. Starter is $49 per user a month ($37 billed yearly) for 2,000 credits, Growth is $99 for 5,000 and Pro is $249 for 15,000 (Prospeo pricing, September 2026). The Enrich API allows 5 requests a second on Starter and 30 on Pro (Prospeo rate limits, September 2026).

The MCP server at https://mcp.prospeo.io exposes 8 tools and signs in with OAuth 2.0 or an API key (Prospeo MCP docs, September 2026).

Africa coverage test. The free plan gives 100 credits a month, enough for 25 African contacts and a second pass. A miss costs nothing and re-enriching the same record within 90 days is free.

Pros

  • Chrome extension and CRM sync for browser prospecting.
  • A miss costs no credit.
  • 100 free credits a month.

Cons

  • No published Africa or country coverage figure.
  • Per-user pricing, so a team adds seats and credits together.
  • No single tier reaches 1M. The cheapest public path is $14,456 a month.

Best for: reps and small teams that sell into a few African accounts and want an extension and CRM sync.

Pricing: Free. Starter $49, Growth $99, Pro $249 per user a month (Prospeo pricing, September 2026).

7. FullEnrich: best for waterfall lookups across many sources

FullEnrich queries 25+ sources per contact and charges for what it finds. A work email costs 1 credit, a personal email 3 and a mobile 10. Not found costs 0 (FullEnrich docs, September 2026). Many sources could help in thin markets, but it prints no African figure and we did not test it.

Pro starts at $29 a month for 500 credits ($26 billed yearly). The top monthly tier is 100,000 credits for $3,500 a month, and above that you contact sales (FullEnrich pricing, September 2026). The API allows 60 calls a minute (FullEnrich docs, September 2026). The MCP server can search, enrich and export, and it asks before it spends credits (FullEnrich help, September 2026).

Africa coverage test. The free trial is 50 credits with no card. Send 25 African contacts as a work-email batch and compare the found rate with the single-source tools above.

Pros

  • Waterfall across 25+ sources, so one call covers several vendors.
  • No charge for not found or landline results.
  • API, MCP and unlimited users on every plan.

Cons

  • No published Africa or country coverage figure.
  • The highest credit price here, at $0.035 on the top monthly tier.
  • No public 1M price.
  • 60 API calls a minute is the lowest default limit on this page.

Best for: teams that want waterfall emails and mobiles on a short African list at modest volume.

Pricing: Pro from $29 a month for 500 credits. Enterprise is custom (FullEnrich pricing, September 2026).

Sources are linked in each tool section, checked in September and October 2026. Confirm on the pricing page before you buy. The 1M column is list-price arithmetic on email lookups. Hunter's and Anymail Finder's figures are one-off purchases valid 12 months, not monthly bills. LeadOcean's count is a free count_leads run. None of the other six prints an African figure.

How to choose

  • You need to size African markets by country and title first: LeadOcean. A free exact count by country, then pull emails by API or agent.
  • You want a large global table and an API key on every plan: Lusha, then test 25 of your own African contacts for emails.
  • You already hold African company domains: Hunter. A miss costs nothing.
  • You hold African names and domains and want the lowest credit price: Icypeas.
  • Low African hit rates worry you: Anymail Finder, which bills only valid emails.
  • Your reps work in a browser: Prospeo, with an extension and CRM sync.
  • You want the most sources behind one call: FullEnrich, and compare its found rate on your own 25 contacts.
  • You only want to try one first: the free email finder needs no signup. UK-only? See best email finder tools UK.

Verdict

LeadOcean wins for API, agent and volume buyers. It is the only one here with a free, exact African count by country and an email status filter, and Agency is $497 a month at 1M. Lusha wins for teams that want a large global table with an API on every plan. Hunter suits teams with African domains in hand, Icypeas suits cheap lookups of known names and Anymail Finder suits buyers who pay only for valid emails. Prospeo suits reps and FullEnrich suits waterfall coverage. African email coverage is thinner than elsewhere on every tool, ours included, so run the 25-contact test before you pay anyone.

FAQ

Which email finder has the most African contacts?

None of the six rivals prints an African count that we could find. Lusha's data page shows a coverage map with no numbers (Lusha data page, October 2026). Our own free count on 2026-10-21 was 25,262,919 people in Africa, 1,739,308 of them mailable. Vendors define a contact differently, so compare only after a test.

How many African contacts have an email you can send to?

On 2026-10-21 our count was 1,739,308 people in Africa with a verified, catch-all valid or catch-all email. People with an email of any status numbered 6,879,408. South Africa has the most, with 623,322 mailable.

Are email finders as accurate in Africa as in Europe or the US?

We ran no accuracy test, so we cannot rank on it. Our own data shows the gap in volume: about 27% of African people hold an email, against about 53% across the whole database. Expect more misses in Africa on any tool. Pay-on-valid rules, as at Anymail Finder, soften the cost.

Can I size an African audience for free?

Yes, with LeadOcean. count_leads and a search with count=true spend no records. Hunter, Icypeas, Anymail Finder, Prospeo and FullEnrich charge only for results found, so a failed lookup is free, but they do not size a market by country.

How do I test African coverage before I buy?

Pick 25 contacts you really sell to in your target countries. Run them through each free tier and count the work emails returned. Note the verification status too. Lusha, Hunter, Icypeas, Anymail Finder, Prospeo, FullEnrich and LeadOcean all have a free allowance.

Which countries in Africa have the most business email data?

South Africa, Nigeria, Egypt and Kenya lead in our data, in that order by mailable count: 623,322, 213,509, 205,565 and 105,140 on 2026-10-21. Other vendors print no country counts to compare.
