Prospeo wins if your reps need a searchable database, mobile numbers and a Chrome extension. Anymail Finder wins if you already hold names and domains and want each email checked live at the lowest price per email. They sell different things: Prospeo is a database with search, and Anymail Finder is a live lookup.

All figures were checked in September 2026, each with its source link. Where a vendor publishes nothing, the page says so.

Verdict

  • Pick Prospeo if you need to search for people you do not have yet, want mobile numbers, or have reps who prospect in a browser. It has a Chrome extension on every plan and HubSpot and Salesforce sync on Growth and Pro (Prospeo pricing, September 2026). Plans start at $49 a month per user.
  • Pick Anymail Finder if you already have a list of names and company domains and want a verified email for each. You pay one credit only when a valid email is found. Unlimited team members share one pool, and a bounce can be reported for a credit back (Anymail Finder pricing, September 2026). Plans start at $29 a month.
  • Pick neither if you want one flat plan with search, emails and phones through REST and MCP. LeadOcean covers that. It has no Chrome extension, and its email status comes from a monthly refresh, not a live check.

Data and coverage

Prospeo sells a stored database and Anymail Finder sells a live lookup. Prospeo's API docs describe 200M+ contacts and 30M+ companies, and its homepage claims 143M verified email addresses and 98% data accuracy (Prospeo API docs; Prospeo homepage, September 2026). The same homepage also quotes 280M leads and companies in total. Treat all of those as vendor claims, and note the sizes do not match across its own pages.

Anymail Finder publishes no database size. It says it verifies each address against the recipient's mail server at lookup time. It also says it confirms catch-all addresses other tools mark risky (Anymail Finder, September 2026). Its 86.4% find rate and 98.9% valid rate come from its own benchmark of 5,000 contacts. Test both claims on your own list.

Phones separate them. Prospeo finds mobiles at 10 credits each, with the email included (Prospeo help center, September 2026). It publishes no count of mobiles held. Anymail Finder has no phone lookup.

Search is the other gap. Prospeo lets you filter a database before you spend credits, with 28 to 41 filters depending on plan (Prospeo pricing, September 2026). Anymail Finder starts from a name and company, a domain, a LinkedIn URL or a decision-maker category, so you bring the list.

API and developer experience

Both APIs are public and short to read. Prospeo wants a data object with a name plus a company, a LinkedIn URL, an email or a person_id from search. Anymail Finder wants a name plus a domain, or a LinkedIn URL.

This is Prospeo's enrich request from its docs, with a placeholder person:

bash
curl -X POST "https://api.prospeo.io/enrich-person" \
  -H "X-KEY: $PROSPEO_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"data":{"first_name":"Jane","last_name":"Doe","company_website":"acme.com"}}'

It returns a person object and a company object. A verified email costs 1 credit, a mobile costs 10, and a lookup with no result costs nothing. Re-enriching the same record within 90 days is free (Prospeo enrich docs, September 2026).

This is Anymail Finder's find-person request from its docs, with a placeholder person:

bash
curl -X POST "https://api.anymailfinder.com/v5.1/find-email/person" \
  -H "Authorization: $ANYMAILFINDER_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"domain":"acme.com","full_name":"Jane Doe"}'

It returns email_status: valid, risky, not_found or blacklisted. It charges 1 credit only on a valid hit. From 5 October 2026 a search that would have returned a risky email returns not_found instead. The docs recommend a 180 second timeout because searches run in real time (Anymail Finder docs, September 2026).

Rate limits cut both ways. Anymail Finder states none. Prospeo caps enrich at 2,000 requests a day on Starter, 5,000 on Growth and 500,000 on Pro (Prospeo rate limits, September 2026). The Free plan is disputed: the pricing table shows no public API, while the help center lists 50 requests a day (Prospeo help center, September 2026). Test a free key before you plan around it.

For agents, both have a hosted MCP server. Prospeo's has 8 tools (Prospeo MCP docs, September 2026). Anymail Finder's has five actions and signs in through a browser window in Claude, Cursor and ChatGPT (Anymail Finder MCP page, September 2026).

Pricing

Prospeo bills per seat plus credits, and Anymail Finder bills per credit with no seat price. Prices use the monthly list first, with the billed-yearly figure after it. Both examples assume every lookup finds an email, which is the worst case for both.

At 10,000 records a month. Prospeo's cheapest monthly path is one Growth seat ($99, 5,000 credits) plus the 5,000-credit add-on ($90). That is $99 + $90 = $189 for 10,000 credits (Prospeo pricing, September 2026). Billed yearly, the cheapest path is one Starter seat ($441, 24,000 credits) plus the 100,000-credit yearly add-on ($1,200). That is $441 + $1,200 = $1,641 for 124,000 credits, or $1,641 / 12 = about $137 a month.

Anymail Finder's 10,000-credit plan is $199 a month (Anymail Finder pricing, September 2026). Billed yearly, 120,000 credits cost $1,596, which is $1,596 / 12 = $133 a month. A one-time 10,000 pack is $399. Misses are free on both, so a 70% find rate uses 7,000 credits.

So at 10,000 emails a month the two are close. Prospeo is $10 cheaper on monthly billing, and Anymail Finder is about $4 cheaper a month on yearly billing. Prospeo credits expire each cycle, while Anymail Finder subscription credits roll over while the plan is active.

At 1M records a month. Prospeo has no single plan that reaches 1M. The cheapest public path on monthly billing is 44 Pro seats at $249 plus the 350,000-credit add-on at $3,500. The maths: (1,000,000 - 350,000) / 15,000 = 43.3, so 44 seats x $249 = $10,956, plus $3,500 = $14,456 a month (Prospeo pricing, September 2026).

Billed yearly it is 3 Pro seats at $2,241 plus the 500,000-credit yearly add-on at $4,500: $6,723 + $4,500 = $11,223, once, for 1,040,000 credits upfront. That is one year's allowance, not 1M every month. Prospeo publishes nothing above these add-ons. Higher volume needs support to enable extended pricing (Prospeo help center, September 2026).

Anymail Finder's biggest monthly plan is 100,000 credits at $799, so 1M means a pack. The 1,000,000-credit pack is $4,990, which is 1,000,000 x $0.00499 (Anymail Finder pricing, September 2026). It is a one-time buy valid for 12 months. At 1M, Anymail Finder is $14,456 - $4,990 = $9,466 cheaper than Prospeo's monthly path, about a third of the price.

Time matters too. Prospeo's Pro cap is 500,000 enrich requests a day, so 1M takes at least 2 days. Anymail Finder's bulk docs average 1,000 rows per 5 minutes, so run one after another, 1M rows is 5,000 minutes, about 3.5 days (Anymail Finder bulk docs, September 2026).

Where Prospeo wins

  • Search before you spend. You filter a database and see results before any credit goes out. Anymail Finder needs your list first.
  • Mobile numbers. A mobile finder at 10 credits per mobile. Anymail Finder has none.
  • A rep tool. Chrome extension on every plan, plus CRM sync on Growth and Pro (Prospeo pricing, September 2026).
  • Enrichment beyond email. Each enrich returns person and company data, not just an address.

Prospeo's weak points are a price that grows with seats, credits that expire each cycle, a disputed Free API tier and nothing public above 350,000 credits a month.

Where Anymail Finder wins

  • Live verification. Each address is checked at lookup time, and a verified email that bounces can be reported for a credit back (Anymail Finder pricing, September 2026).
  • Price at volume. The 1M pack is $4,990 against $14,456 a month on Prospeo's cheapest monthly path.
  • No seat price. Unlimited team members share one credit pool.
  • Bulk and rate limits. One bulk job takes 100,000 rows, and no rate limit is stated.

Anymail Finder's weak points are no database search, no phones and no firmographics. A pack above 1M credits is not listed, and its pricing page offers volume pricing on request.

If you need volume through an API

LeadOcean is a third option if neither fits. The Free plan gives you 1,000 records, one-off, with no card. Pro is $499 a month, flat, with unlimited searches, enrichments and lookups, and no credits or per-record price (LeadOcean pricing, September 2026).

It holds 693M people, 366M with an email and 166M with a phone number, plus 63M companies. The same REST API and a hosted MCP server with 12 tools run on every plan. The MCP server searches, enriches and exports records (LeadOcean MCP docs, September 2026).

For bulk pulls, POST /v1/exports returns up to 50,000 rows per request. The app has an Exports page with a filter builder and CSV download (LeadOcean exports docs, September 2026). 1M rows is 20 requests over two days. Each LeadOcean record carries a stored email status and its own fetched_at date, and the dataset is refreshed monthly. Keep Anymail Finder if live verification is the whole job. See pricing for the detail.

FAQ

Is Anymail Finder cheaper than Prospeo?

At high volume, yes. At 1M emails Anymail Finder's pack is $4,990 and Prospeo's cheapest public monthly path is $14,456. At 10,000 emails a month the two are within $10 of each other, depending on billing.

Does Prospeo have an API and an MCP server?

Yes to both. The REST API has enrich and search endpoints, with bulk enrichment of up to 50 records. The MCP server is hosted at mcp.prospeo.io with 8 tools (Prospeo MCP docs, September 2026).

Does Anymail Finder find phone numbers?

No. Its API docs list email, decision-maker, company and verify endpoints, and no phone endpoint (Anymail Finder docs, September 2026). Prospeo finds mobiles at 10 credits each.

Which one finds new contacts I do not already have?

Prospeo does. It searches a database by filters before you spend credits, and search results carry no email until you enrich them (Prospeo help center, September 2026). Anymail Finder starts from a name and company or a LinkedIn URL you already hold.

Do they charge for emails they cannot find?

No on both. Prospeo charges nothing when no result is found, and Anymail Finder charges 1 credit only for a valid email. Risky and not-found results are free on Anymail Finder, and repeats within 30 days are free (Anymail Finder docs, September 2026).

Is there a rate limit on either API?

Prospeo has per-second and daily caps by plan, from 5 per second and 2,000 a day on Starter to 30 per second and 500,000 a day on Pro. Anymail Finder states no rate limits.
