RocketReach and Coresignal both sell professional data through an API, but they sell different things. RocketReach is a contact finder: you look up a person and get emails and phones. Coresignal is a raw data source: profiles, companies and job postings, bought by the credit.
Verdict
- Pick RocketReach if you need emails and phone numbers for named people, and your volume is a few thousand lookups a month. Self-serve starts at $69 a month, and phone comes with the Pro plan.
- Pick Coresignal if you need job postings, company data or the largest raw profile count, and you want a public price ladder up to $5,000 a month. It has no phone field in its employee data.
- Pick neither if you need phone and email at volume through an API at a price you can read. Neither publishes a price at 1M records. LeadOcean is one option: Pro is $499 a month, flat.

Data and coverage
Coresignal is bigger and wider. RocketReach is narrower and built around contact details. The two counts are not like for like.
RocketReach claims 700M+ professional profiles. Its docs disagree on companies: 60M+ on the docs home, 35M on the API account page (RocketReach docs, September 2026). It publishes no count of profiles with an email or a phone.
Coresignal lists 907M+ employee records, 70M+ companies and 482M+ job postings, and 4.5B+ records across all datasets. It says company data is delivered daily (Coresignal, September 2026). Job postings are the part RocketReach does not sell.
Email is where the products split. RocketReach grades each email A, A-, B or F. No credit is charged when no data is found or the grade is B or F (RocketReach FAQ, September 2026). Coresignal puts a professional email on multi-source employee records only, with statuses verified, matched_email, matched_pattern and guessed_common_pattern. The Base Employee API pages list no email field.
Phone is a gap on the Coresignal side. No phone field appears in either employee dictionary, so a dial list needs a second source. RocketReach sells phones from the Pro plan up.
Coresignal's MCP email lookup excludes employees in the EEA and UK (Coresignal MCP docs, September 2026). Test a European sample before you commit.
API and developer experience
Both are REST APIs with a one-call lookup, but they bill differently. RocketReach looks up a person and spends export credits. Coresignal collects a record by ID or shorthand name and spends data credits.
RocketReach takes name plus employer, or a LinkedIn URL or email. The call can answer with a status of progress, so you poll or register a webhook (RocketReach docs, September 2026).
curl -G "https://api.rocketreach.co/api/v2/person/lookup" \
-H "Api-Key: $ROCKETREACH_API_KEY" \
--data-urlencode "name=Jane Doe" \
--data-urlencode "current_employer=Acme"Coresignal sends a key in an apikey header. The collect call takes a shorthand name from a profile URL and costs 20 credits on the multi-source API (Coresignal docs, September 2026).
curl -X GET \
"https://api.coresignal.com/cdapi/v2/employee_multi_source/collect/jane-doe" \
-H "accept: application/json" \
-H "apikey: $CORESIGNAL_API_KEY"Search differs too. Coresignal search by filter or Elasticsearch DSL is free and returns IDs, but a search preview costs credits and every collect bills (Coresignal docs, September 2026). RocketReach search costs 1 credit per page of up to 100 results, and a query stops at 10,000 results (RocketReach FAQ, September 2026).
Rate limits are the sharpest difference. RocketReach caps all APIs at 10 requests a second. On top of that, Ultimate allows 100 person lookups a minute and 50,000 a month, and the Custom tier 200,000 a month (RocketReach rate limits, September 2026). Coresignal ties speed to the plan, from 5 a second to 100+ (Coresignal rate limits, September 2026).
For bulk work, Coresignal Bulk Collect is asynchronous and takes up to 10,000 records per request. RocketReach bulk lookup takes 100 people per batch and needs a webhook.
On MCP, both ship an official server with OAuth 2.1. RocketReach's search tools cost nothing, and person_lookup costs 1 lookup credit plus 1 export credit (RocketReach MCP docs, September 2026). Coresignal's entity_search costs 20 credits a call and entity_fetch 20 credits per employee or company record.
Coresignal's live MCP server bills 20 credits per email found, and misses are free. Its docs page still says 10 credits, so budget 20 (Coresignal MCP docs, September 2026).
Pricing
Figures show the monthly list price first, then the billed-yearly price. RocketReach's pricing page shows a bot check to automated reads, so its monthly prices come from G2, which reports them (G2, reported, September 2026). Its billed-yearly prices could not be verified, so we leave them out. RocketReach publishes no API plan price.
At 10,000 records a month
Take 10,000 work emails. RocketReach: through the app, each export is one lookup. Ultimate is $209 a month for 1,000 exports, so 10,000 / 1,000 = 10 seats x $209 = $2,090 a month, or $0.209 a lookup (G2, reported, September 2026). Ten seats is our arithmetic, not a published plan. G2 shows 1,000 exports in its headline and 500 in one paragraph. At 500, the same volume needs 20 seats, or $4,180 a month.
Through the API, a professional email is 2 Universal Credits, so 10,000 emails is 20,000 credits. That fits inside the Pro lookup cap of 20,000 a month. RocketReach publishes no dollar price per credit and no API plan price (RocketReach credits, September 2026). Email api@rocketreach.co for a quote.
Coresignal: contact enrichment is 20 credits a call, so 10,000 x 20 = 200,000 credits. Growth stops at 150,000 credits. Premium is $1,500 a month for 1,000,000 credits, or $16,200 billed yearly, which is $1,350 a month (Coresignal pricing, September 2026). On the monthly price that is $0.15 a lookup, and unused credits roll over for 3 months.
The pricing page shows a Get started button on Premium but also flags it as contact-sales. Confirm how you buy it before you plan around it.
At 1M records a month
RocketReach: no public 1M price. The highest published person-lookup cap is 200,000 a month, so 1M lookups is five months at the cap (RocketReach rate limits, September 2026). Seats are not a realistic path at this volume, and RocketReach quotes API plans by email.
Coresignal: no public 1M price. 1,000,000 lookups x 20 credits = 20,000,000 credits, and no public plan reaches that. Elite is $5,000 a month for 10,000,000 credits, which covers 500,000 lookups.
Coresignal lists no plan above Elite and does not document buying two in one month (Coresignal pricing, September 2026). Elite billed yearly is $54,000, or $4,500 a month. Ask both vendors for a quote at your volume.
Where RocketReach wins
- Contact data for named people. It returns emails and phones for a person you name, and email and phone sit together on the Pro plan.
- Cheap to start. 5 free lookups with no card, then Essentials at $69 a month (reported). Coresignal's cheapest plan with the Contact Enrichment API is Pro at $499.
- Email grading and verification. A grade on every email, no credit on B or F, and a standalone
POST /api/v2/email/verifyendpoint at 300 a minute (RocketReach rate limits, September 2026). - Free MCP search.
person_searchandcompany_searchcost no credits.
Where Coresignal wins
- Job postings and company signals. 482M+ postings at 1 credit each, and company data it says is delivered daily.
- Raw scale. 907M+ employee records against RocketReach's claimed 700M+ profiles.
- A public price ladder. Eight plans from $49 to $5,000 a month, with the credit rate on the page.
- Throughput. Up to 100+ requests a second, and Bulk Collect at 10,000 records per request, against RocketReach's 10 a second and 100 per batch.
- Cheaper at 10,000 lookups. About $0.15 on Premium, against $0.209 on RocketReach Ultimate seats.
If you need volume through an API
We build LeadOcean, so weigh this section accordingly. LeadOcean holds 693M people and 63M companies, with 166M people carrying a phone number, reachable over REST and MCP. Free is 1,000 records, one-off, with no card. Pro is $499 a month, flat, with no credits and a limit of 100 requests per second per key (LeadOcean pricing, September 2026).
For bulk work, POST /v1/exports returns up to 50,000 rows per request. The app has an Exports page with a filter builder and CSV download (LeadOcean exports docs, September 2026). It has no job-posting data and no Chrome extension. For a line-by-line view against RocketReach, see the RocketReach alternative page and the RocketReach alternatives roundup.
