RocketReach and Dealfront both sell B2B contact data, but they are built for different jobs. RocketReach is a contact finder with an API and an MCP server, billed on plans and Universal Credits. Dealfront is a website visitor and prospecting product that sells contacts on credits too. Since March 24, 2026 it trades as Leadfeeder, and this page uses both names (Leadfeeder rebrand FAQ, September 2026).
Verdict
- Pick RocketReach if you look up named people by LinkedIn URL, name or email, and want the larger people database. Monthly plans list from $69, reported by G2.
- Pick Dealfront if you want to see which companies visit your site, then enrich the contacts. Paid plans have a price you can read, from $79 a month billed yearly.
- Pick neither if you need millions of records through an API. Neither publishes a 1M price. LeadOcean is one option: Pro is $499 a month, flat.

Data and coverage
RocketReach claims 700M+ professionals. Dealfront claims 400M verified contacts. Both are the vendors' own numbers, and "professional" and "verified contact" may not count the same thing. On people, RocketReach claims about 75% more.
On companies the two are close. Dealfront says 60M. RocketReach's API docs home says 60M+, though its API account page gives a lower figure, so treat the company count as soft.
Neither vendor publishes how many records carry an email or a phone. RocketReach does publish match rates. It says 87% of lookups return profiles, and LinkedIn URLs return data 99% of the time (RocketReach FAQ, September 2026). That is a vendor claim, not a test.
The products differ more than the counts. RocketReach is person-first. You search people by title, employer and location, then look up a profile for contact data. It also takes an NPI number for US healthcare professionals (RocketReach docs, September 2026).
Dealfront is company-first. Its core product reveals which companies visit your website, then pushes them to your CRM. Contacts are the second step, billed in credits (Leadfeeder, September 2026).
Email quality is signalled differently. RocketReach grades emails A, A-, B and F and charges nothing for B or F (RocketReach FAQ, September 2026). We found no email grade in Dealfront's credits help, which is not proof it has none. Test both on your own list before you buy.
API and developer experience
Both are REST APIs with an MCP server. The shape differs. RocketReach is one lookup call per person. Dealfront is search first, then retrieve by ID.
RocketReach's person lookup takes a LinkedIn URL, an email, a profile ID, or a name with a current employer. It consumes export credits. The status can come back as "progress", so you poll a status endpoint or register a webhook (RocketReach docs, September 2026).
curl -G "https://api.rocketreach.co/api/v2/person/lookup" \
-H "Api-Key: $ROCKETREACH_API_KEY" \
--data-urlencode "name=Jane Doe" \
--data-urlencode "current_employer=Acme"Dealfront's search returns contact summaries and costs no credits. Retrieving deep data by ID costs 1 credit unless you opened that contact in the last 12 months (Leadfeeder OpenAPI spec, September 2026).
curl -X POST "https://api.leadfeeder.com/v1/contacts/search?account_id=$ACCOUNT_ID" \
-H "X-Api-Key: $LEADFEEDER_API_KEY" \
-H "content-type: application/json" \
-d '{"departments":["marketing_department"],"hierarchy_levels":["top_management"],"filters":{"has_email":true}}'
curl "https://api.leadfeeder.com/v1/contacts?ids=$CONTACT_ID&account_id=$ACCOUNT_ID" \
-H "X-Api-Key: $LEADFEEDER_API_KEY"Dealfront keys are tied to one user and do not expire. Retrieve takes up to 100 IDs per call (Leadfeeder API docs, September 2026).
Limits bite in different places. RocketReach caps person lookups by plan, from 5,000 a month on Essentials to 200,000 on Custom, and adds minute, hourly and daily caps. Throttled calls get a 429 with a Retry-After header (RocketReach rate limits, September 2026).
Dealfront's cap is per key. It allows 10 requests a second, a burst of 15 and 100,000 requests a month. The OpenAPI says the monthly quota can be raised through your account manager (Leadfeeder rate limits, September 2026).
On MCP, both host a server with OAuth sign-in. RocketReach's person and company search tools cost no credits. Its lookup tools do. Dealfront's is marked beta (RocketReach MCP docs, Leadfeeder MCP docs, September 2026).
Pricing
Both charge a plan fee, then meter actions in credits. Neither publishes a dollar price per credit, so cost per record has to be built from plan prices and caps. Prices below are list prices, monthly billing first and billed-yearly after it.
RocketReach lists Essentials at $69, Pro at $119 and Ultimate at $209 a month on monthly billing. These come from G2 because rocketreach.co/pricing blocks automated reads (G2, reported, September 2026). We could not read its billed-yearly prices, so this page uses monthly prices only. Monthly billing gives 100, 250 and 1,000 exports a month.
Dealfront lists Discover at $113 a month billed monthly and $79 billed yearly. Activate is $527 and $369. Scale is $599, shown on the annual grid only. Prices show in dollars or euros with the same numbers (Leadfeeder pricing, September 2026; Leadfeeder help, September 2026).
At 10,000 records a month
For RocketReach, 10,000 exports at 1,000 a month per Ultimate plan is 10 plans. 10 x $209 = $2,090 a month on monthly billing. Stacking plans is our arithmetic, not a RocketReach price, and G2 shows Ultimate's allowance as 500 in one place (G2, reported, September 2026).
The API route is credits. 10,000 professional emails at 2 credits is 20,000 credits. RocketReach publishes no dollar price for a credit or an API plan, so there is no total to show (RocketReach credits, September 2026).
For Dealfront, 10,000 contacts with email only is 10,000 x 0.2 = 2,000 credits. With email and phone it is 10,000 x 1 = 10,000 credits (Leadfeeder credits help, September 2026).
Activate tops out at 1,500 credits and Scale at 5,500. The email-only job needs a Scale tier, and the phone job is nearly twice the top tier. Scale runs from $599 a month, with 1,000 credits at the entry tier, up to $2,089 a month at 5,500 credits. The price in between is not published (Leadfeeder pricing, September 2026).
At 1M records a month
RocketReach: no public 1M price. 1M professional emails is 1,000,000 x 2 = 2,000,000 credits, with no published dollar price. The highest person lookup cap is 200,000 a month on Custom, so a 1M job is five months at that cap (RocketReach rate limits, September 2026).
Dealfront: no public 1M price. 1M email-only contacts is 1,000,000 x 0.2 = 200,000 credits. Scale's top tier holds 5,500 a month, so that is about 36 months of it. With phones it is 1,000,000 credits (Leadfeeder pricing, September 2026).
A single Dealfront key is also capped at 100,000 requests a month, below 1M lookups before a quota raise (Leadfeeder rate limits, September 2026). We do not multiply either vendor's rates out to 1M and call it a quote. Ask both for one at your volume.
Where RocketReach wins
- A larger people database. It claims 700M+ professionals, against Dealfront's 400M verified contacts.
- Person-level lookup. You can find someone by LinkedIn URL, email, name and employer, phone or NPI number.
- A cheap way in for one user. Monthly plans list from $69, reported by G2, and a free account gives 5 lookups (G2, reported, September 2026).
- Standalone email verification.
POST /api/v2/email/verifyruns at 300 a minute on every plan (RocketReach rate limits, September 2026). - Free search on MCP. Person and company search cost no credits through its MCP server.
Where Dealfront wins
- Visitor identification. It shows which companies are on your site. RocketReach's API is a lookup service, and this is the product Dealfront is built around.
- Plans you can read. Discover, Activate and Scale each have a list price on the page. RocketReach's pricing page blocked our read, and its API plan has no published price.
- Cheap email-only contacts. At 0.2 credit each, email-only enrichment is the lowest published credit cost on either side.
- A free tier that keeps going. Lite is $0 with 20 credits a month and no end date (Leadfeeder pricing, September 2026).
- API and MCP in the plan. Both come with Discover, Activate and Scale at no extra cost. Only the free Lite plan lacks them.
If you need volume through an API
We build LeadOcean, so weigh this section accordingly. LeadOcean holds 693M people, 366M of them with an email and 166M with a phone number, plus 63M companies. You reach them over REST and MCP. Free is 1,000 records, one-off, with no card. Pro is $499 a month, flat, with no credits and a limit of 100 requests per second per key (LeadOcean pricing, September 2026).
For bulk work, POST /v1/exports returns up to 50,000 rows per request. The app also has an Exports page with a filter builder, a price preview and CSV download (LeadOcean exports docs, September 2026). There is no visitor identification, sequencer, dialer or Chrome extension. See the RocketReach alternative page for a line-by-line version, or RocketReach alternatives for a roundup.
FAQ
Is Dealfront the same as Leadfeeder?
Yes. Dealfront became Leadfeeder on March 24, 2026, and dealfront.com now serves the Leadfeeder site. The subscription, pricing, features and data stayed the same (Leadfeeder rebrand FAQ, September 2026).
Which has more contacts, RocketReach or Dealfront?
By their own claims, RocketReach has more people: 700M+ professionals against 400M verified contacts. Companies are close at about 60M each. Neither publishes email or phone counts, so test both on your own list.
Do RocketReach and Dealfront have an MCP server?
Both do. RocketReach's is at https://mcp.rocketreach.co/mcp with 9 tools. Dealfront's is at https://mcp.leadfeeder.com/mcp, is marked beta and comes with paid plans that have API access.
Which is cheaper at 10,000 records a month?
Neither publishes a dollar price per credit, so there is no clean answer. RocketReach plans stacked to 10,000 exports come to $2,090 a month on monthly billing, our arithmetic. Dealfront's email-only job needs 2,000 credits, which means a Scale tier priced between $599 and $2,089.
Which one can do 1M records a month?
Neither publishes a price. RocketReach's highest person lookup cap is 200,000 a month. Dealfront's top public tier is 5,500 credits a month, and each API key stops at 100,000 requests a month. Ask both for a quote.
How does LeadOcean compare with these two?
LeadOcean is a data API and MCP server with one flat price, $499 a month on Pro. It is not a visitor tracker or a sales workspace. Read the ZoomInfo vs Dealfront, Seamless.AI vs Dealfront and RocketReach vs UpLead comparisons, or see pricing.
