RocketReach is a people-search app with an API behind it. Findymail is an email finder that charges only when it verifies an address. Neither publishes a price at 1M records a month. Pick RocketReach to search a big index by title and employer, and Findymail to turn names and domains into verified emails.
Verdict
- Pick RocketReach if a rep or small team searches for people by title, employer and location, then reveals contact details one lookup at a time. Plans list at $69 to $209 a month on monthly billing, as G2 reports them (G2, September 2026).
- Pick Findymail if you already hold names, domains or LinkedIn URLs and want a verified email or nothing. A find costs 1 finder credit and a miss costs nothing (Findymail API docs, September 2026).
- Pick neither if the job is people and company records at volume through an API at a fixed bill. Both meter by the credit. LeadOcean is one option, covered below.

RocketReach's pricing page and Findymail's pricing page both show a bot check to automated reads. RocketReach plan prices above come from G2, which copies them from RocketReach's public pricing. Findymail prices come from the August 2026 archived copy of its pricing page.
Data and coverage
RocketReach states a 700M+ professional index. Findymail states no size at all. You cannot rank them on record counts, and neither publishes how many records carry an email or a phone.
The tools find data in different ways. RocketReach is a searchable index. You search by title, employer and location, then spend a lookup to reveal contact details. It says 87% of lookups return a profile and LinkedIn URLs return data 99% of the time (RocketReach FAQ, September 2026).
Findymail starts from a person you already name. You send a name plus a domain, or a profile URL, and it returns an email only if it verifies one. Its lead finder, Intellimatch, takes a plain-language query such as "SaaS companies in US with 50-200 employees" and exports up to 5,000 companies (Findymail API docs, September 2026). It has no structured filters.
Email quality is graded differently. RocketReach grades each email A, A-, B or F and charges only for A and A-. Its FAQ puts A at about 98% deliverable (RocketReach FAQ, September 2026). Findymail returns only emails it verified and sells a separate verifier at one verifier credit per check.
Phones are where they split most. RocketReach charges 6 credits per profile with a phone and does not limit the endpoint to one country in its docs. Findymail charges 10 credits per number, only for US numbers, and returns nothing for EU citizens "for legal reasons" (Findymail API docs, September 2026). For a global list, run 200 contacts you know through both and count the phones.
Each adds data the other lacks. RocketReach has healthcare enrichment with NPI numbers. Findymail has Signals, which track job changes, new hires, keyword mentions and post engagement (Findymail API docs, September 2026).
API and developer experience
Both have a REST API with a key in a header. RocketReach looks a person up by an identifier with a GET. Findymail finds an email from a name and a domain with a POST. Placeholders below stand in for real people.
RocketReach, person lookup from its docs (RocketReach docs, September 2026):
curl --request GET \
--url "https://api.rocketreach.co/api/v2/person/lookup?linkedin_url=https://www.linkedin.com/in/jane-doe" \
--header "Api-Key: $ROCKETREACH_API_KEY"The call consumes export credits. If the lookup status is progress, you poll the status endpoint or register a webhook to get the verified emails.
Findymail, find from name from its docs (Findymail API docs, September 2026):
curl --request POST "https://app.findymail.com/api/search/name" \
--header "Authorization: Bearer $FINDYMAIL_API_KEY" \
--header "Content-Type: application/json" \
--data '{"name": "Jane Doe", "domain": "acme.com"}'The response carries a contact object with the email. Add webhook_url and the search runs in the background and posts the result to you.
The limits differ in shape. RocketReach caps the whole API at 10 requests per second and adds per-plan minute, hourly, daily and monthly caps. Ultimate allows 100 person lookups a minute and 50,000 a month (RocketReach rate limits, September 2026). Findymail counts simultaneous requests, 300 by default, and drops to 5 for the deprecated find-from-domain call.
Access also differs. A Findymail key comes with a free sign-up. RocketReach's docs say to email api@rocketreach.co to set up an API plan, and they publish no price for it.
Both ship a hosted MCP server. RocketReach exposes 9 tools, and its search tools spend no credits (RocketReach MCP docs, September 2026). Findymail exposes 14, including find_email, find_phone and verify_email, and its bundled rule asks before any run that spends more than 25 credits (Findymail Cursor plugin, September 2026).
Pricing
RocketReach sells seats and API credits. Findymail sells credits. Figures use the monthly list price first and the billed-yearly price after it. USD, September 2026. A record below means one work email found.
At 10,000 records a month
Findymail. 10,000 emails at 1 finder credit each is 10,000 credits, and only found emails count (Findymail API docs, September 2026). No plan sells exactly 10,000. The step that covers it is Business at $249 a month for 15,000 credits, or $208 billed yearly (Findymail pricing, archived August 2026). With a US phone on every record, add 10,000 x 10 = 100,000 credits. That is 110,000 in all, past the top public plan of 100,000 credits for $849.
RocketReach, seat route. Ultimate lists at $209 a month with 1,000 exports a month, G2's headline figure (G2, September 2026). 10,000 / 1,000 = 10 seats, and 10 x $209 = $2,090 a month. That is our arithmetic, not a published plan. No billed-yearly figure is shown because that price could not be read first-party.
RocketReach, API route. A professional email is 2 Universal Credits, so 10,000 emails is 20,000 credits (RocketReach credits, September 2026). RocketReach publishes no dollar price per credit and no API plan price. Ask api@rocketreach.co for a quote.
Findymail is cheaper at this volume: $249 against $2,090 for RocketReach's seat route on list. A quote on RocketReach's API route could change that.
At 1M records a month
Findymail. No public 1M price. Its plans stop at 100,000 credits a month, and larger volumes are quoted. Ask what a phone costs, because each is 10 credits.
RocketReach. No public 1M price. The highest published person lookup cap is 200,000 a month on Custom, so 1M lookups is 1,000,000 / 200,000 = 5 months of allowance (RocketReach rate limits, September 2026). In credits, 1M professional emails is 2,000,000 Universal Credits, with no dollar price attached.
Do not multiply either rate out to 1M and call it a quote. Both vendors sell that volume by negotiation.
Where RocketReach wins
- A searchable index. You find people by title, employer and location before you spend a credit. Person and company search in the MCP server cost no credits (RocketReach MCP docs, September 2026).
- A stated size. 700M+ professionals. Findymail publishes no count.
- Phones outside the US. Findymail's phone finder is US only. RocketReach's docs set no country limit, so test your countries.
- Healthcare data and standalone verification. NPI enrichment, plus an email verify endpoint at 300 a minute (RocketReach rate limits, September 2026).
- Free re-lookups. A profile you already revealed costs nothing again while the plan is active (RocketReach FAQ, September 2026).
Where Findymail wins
- Verified or free. A lookup that finds no verified email costs nothing. Its pricing page promises a bounce rate under 5%, with credits refunded if it runs higher (Findymail pricing, archived August 2026).
- A simpler meter. 1 credit per email, 10 per phone, 1 per company, with no seat maths (Findymail API docs, September 2026).
- Easy API access. A free sign-up gives you a key and a Bearer-token API (Findymail API page, September 2026).
- Plain-language lead lists and Signals. Intellimatch builds a list from a sentence. Signals track job changes and new hires.
- More concurrency. 300 simultaneous requests on most endpoints, against 10 requests per second across RocketReach's API.
If you need volume through an API
Both tools meter, and neither prices 1M records. LeadOcean is a people and company data API with an MCP server. Free gives 1,000 records, one-off, with no card. Pro is $499 a month, flat, with no credits and no per-record price. You get 693M people and 63M companies over REST and a 12-tool MCP server, and POST /v1/exports returns up to 50,000 rows per request (LeadOcean exports docs, September 2026). It has no Chrome extension, sequences or CRM, so reps who live in one app should keep RocketReach or Findymail. See pricing.
