RocketReach and Lead411 both sell B2B contact data, but they sell it differently. RocketReach is a people database that returns emails and phones, billed on plans and Universal Credits. Lead411 is a contact database with buyer intent, billed on export-capped plans. Neither publishes a price at 1M records a month.

Verdict

  • Pick RocketReach if one rep or a small team looks people up by hand and wants phone numbers on a mid-priced plan. Email-only Essentials lists at $69 a month and Pro, with phone, at $119 on monthly billing, as G2 reports it (G2, reported, September 2026).
  • Pick Lead411 if reps work in an app, sell in the US, Canada or northern Europe, and want Bombora buyer intent and sync to 25+ CRMs. Spark starts at $49 a month for 1,000 exports (Lead411 pricing, September 2026).
  • Pick neither if the job is bulk volume through an API at a fixed bill. Both cap volume on their priced plans, and neither has a public 1M price. LeadOcean is built for that case. See the last section.

Data and coverage

RocketReach states more than Lead411 does. Its docs describe 700M+ professionals (RocketReach docs, September 2026). Lead411 says "millions" and gives no count of contacts, emails or direct dials.

Both are vendor claims, and neither vendor publishes a find rate. Neither splits its count into emails and phones, so you cannot size phone coverage from the pages. A country list tells you more about fit than a headline total.

Lead411 lists 13 countries: the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand and Sweden (Lead411 FAQ, September 2026). RocketReach publishes no country list. If you sell in Germany, France or Asia, test both on your own list before you pay.

On quality, the two work differently. RocketReach grades emails and charges credits only for A or A- grades, and a lookup that finds nothing is free (RocketReach FAQ, September 2026). Lead411 cites a 97% verified email average and notes that the figure covers only optimized, verified emails (Lead411, September 2026).

Run your own test. Pull 500 contacts you know are good, across regions and seniority levels. Count how many return an email, how many bounce and how many return a phone. Then read the credit or export meter to get the real cost per match.

Signals differ too. Lead411 licenses Bombora buyer intent on annual plans only. It is not included on annual Spark, is an add-on on annual Ignite and is optional on Blaze (Lead411 pricing, September 2026).

API and developer experience

RocketReach publishes more about its API. Limits, credit costs and the MCP tool list are all in the docs. Lead411 publishes an OpenAPI 3.1 spec and a Postman collection, but no rate limit number and no MCP tool list.

RocketReach looks a person up by LinkedIn URL, email, or name plus employer. Placeholders stand in for a real person (RocketReach docs, September 2026).

bash
curl "https://api.rocketreach.co/api/v2/person/lookup?linkedin_url=https://www.linkedin.com/in/jane-doe" \
  -H "Api-Key: $ROCKETREACH_API_KEY"

This is a GET, and the lookup can answer with a status of progress. You then poll the status endpoint or register a webhook to get the verified emails. A throttled call returns 429 with a Retry-After header.

Lead411's V3 API takes an X-API-KEY header, or a bearer token from email and password login or OAuth. Looking up one employee is a POST (Lead411 API docs, September 2026).

bash
curl -X POST "https://api.lead411.com/v3/employee/getEmployeeInformation" \
  -H "X-API-KEY: $LEAD411_API_KEY" \
  -H "content-type: application/json" \
  -d '{"employee_id": 12345}'

Revealing the record is a separate call, POST /employee/unlock_employee_record, and it draws down an unlock_quota. The docs do not say how a reveal maps to the exports the pricing page sells, so ask Lead411 before you budget by export.

Rate limits show the gap. RocketReach has a global 10 requests per second. Ultimate person lookups allow 100 a minute, 1,000 an hour, 3,000 a day and 50,000 a month. Bulk jobs are capped at 100 a day on Essentials through Ultimate and 1,000 a day on Custom (RocketReach rate limits, September 2026). Lead411 says only that it rate limits for fair use and advises exponential backoff.

On MCP, both ship a server with a gate. RocketReach's signs in with OAuth 2.1 and exposes 9 tools, and a lookup costs a lookup credit plus an export credit (RocketReach MCP docs, September 2026). Lead411's is for approved customers, and requests return 401 until support enables it.

Pricing

Figures use the monthly list price first, with the billed-yearly price after it. RocketReach's pricing page shows a bot check to automated reads, so its monthly prices come from G2, which reports them (G2, reported, September 2026). Its annual prices could not be read. The examples count one work-email lookup as one record.

RocketReach list prices on monthly billing, as reported:

  • Essentials: $69 a month, email only, 100 exports a month.
  • Pro: $119 a month, email and phone, 250 exports a month.
  • Ultimate: $209 a month, 1,000 exports a month.
  • Custom: by quote, with a 200,000 person lookups a month cap (RocketReach rate limits, September 2026).

Lead411 list prices, monthly billing first and billed-yearly after (Lead411 pricing, September 2026):

  • Spark: $49 a month for 1,000 exports. $490 a year billed yearly, about $40.83 a month, for 12,000 exports.
  • Ignite: from $150 a month for "1000+" exports. From $1,500 a year billed yearly, $125 a month. Price varies by team size.
  • Blaze: unlimited exports, annual only, "Let's Chat". No public price.

At 10,000 records a month

RocketReach, self-serve: Ultimate includes 1,000 exports a month. 10,000 exports is 10 seats, so 10 x $209 = $2,090 a month. That is our arithmetic on reported prices, not a RocketReach quote.

RocketReach, by API: a professional email is 2 credits, so 10,000 emails is 20,000 credits. There is no dollar price per credit, so the cost comes from a quote. The Ultimate daily cap of 3,000 lookups means 10,000 takes at least four days.

Lead411: Spark is $49 for 1,000 exports, so $0.049 an export at list. Scaled to 10,000 that is $490. Spark stops at 1,000 a month and has no API, so $490 is a rate, not a price you can pay. Ignite has the API, but its "1000+" cap is undefined, so ask for a quote.

At 1M records a month

RocketReach: no public 1M price. A million professional emails is 2,000,000 credits, and no dollar price is published. The highest published person lookup cap is 200,000 a month, so 1M takes at least five months at that tier. Above that, the price comes from a quote.

Lead411: no public 1M price. Spark stops at 1,000 exports a month. Ignite has no stated cap, and unlimited exports sit on Blaze, priced by quote. For a real number at either tool, ask for a written quote at your volume.

What a miss costs

RocketReach charges no credit when no data is found, or when the email grades B or F (RocketReach FAQ, September 2026). Lead411 does not publish a miss rule, so ask before you build a pipeline on it.

Where RocketReach wins

  • A cheap seat with phones. Pro is $119 a month on monthly billing, as G2 reports it. Lead411 puts direct dials on Ignite, from $150 a month.
  • A published price ladder. Three self-serve plans have list prices you can read. Lead411's Ignite price varies by team size.
  • Published limits. Per-plan minute, hourly, daily and monthly caps are in the docs. Lead411 publishes no number.
  • Fair billing on misses. No credit for a miss or for B and F grade emails.
  • A standalone verify endpoint. POST /api/v2/email/verify runs at 300 a minute on every plan (RocketReach rate limits, September 2026).
  • A larger claimed index. 700M+ professionals against "millions". Test it on your own list.

Where Lead411 wins

  • Bombora buyer intent. If outbound runs on who is in market this week, Lead411 sells that feed. It is annual only.
  • Wider CRM sync. One-click integration with more than 25 CRMs (Lead411 FAQ, September 2026).
  • An unlimited plan on offer. Blaze is unlimited exports a year, by quote. RocketReach's biggest published lookup cap is 200,000 a month.
  • A cheap email-only start. Spark is $0.049 an export at list, with verified emails, advanced search and the Chrome extension.
  • Company endpoints. The API has company info, employees, news, jobs and technology stack routes (Lead411 API docs, September 2026).

If you need volume through an API

We build LeadOcean, so weigh this section accordingly. Both tools above cap volume on their priced plans, and neither publishes a price at 1M records a month. LeadOcean is a data API with one flat price: Pro is $499 a month with no credits, and Free gives 1,000 records, one-off, with no card. You get 693M people and 63M companies over REST and a 12-tool MCP server, at 100 requests per second per key. Bulk export is POST /v1/exports, 50,000 rows per request and up to 500,000 rows a day, so a 1M-row pull takes two days (LeadOcean exports docs, September 2026). The app also has an Exports page with a filter builder, a price preview and CSV download. LeadOcean has no extension, sequencer or CRM, so keep RocketReach or Lead411 for those. Past the fair-usage line a very large month is paced down, not cut off. See pricing.

FAQ

Is RocketReach or Lead411 cheaper?

At one seat, RocketReach is cheaper if you need phones. Pro is $119 a month, as G2 reports it, against Lead411 Ignite from $150. Lead411 Spark is $49 for 1,000 exports, but it has no phones and no API. At 10,000 records a month, neither publishes a plan price.

Which has more data?

RocketReach claims 700M+ professionals. Lead411 says "millions" and publishes no count. Both are vendor claims, so run 500 of your own contacts through each before you decide.

Does either have an MCP server?

Yes, both. RocketReach's runs at mcp.rocketreach.co/mcp with 9 tools and OAuth 2.1 sign-in (RocketReach MCP docs, September 2026). Lead411's runs at mcp.lead411.com/mcp for approved accounts only, and returns 401 until support enables it (Lead411 API docs, September 2026).

Which API is easier to start with?

RocketReach, for the published limits and credit costs, though setup goes through api@rocketreach.co and lookups can be asynchronous. Lead411 lists the API on Ignite and up, supports three auth routes and publishes no rate limit number.

Can either tool handle 1M records a month?

Not on a published price. RocketReach's highest published person lookup cap is 200,000 a month. Lead411's unlimited plan, Blaze, is priced by quote.

Which is better for phone numbers?

RocketReach Pro is the cheapest published plan with phones, at 6 credits per profile through the API. Lead411 includes direct dials on Ignite and Blaze. Neither publishes how many records have a phone, so test a sample first.
