An email finder returns a person's work email from a name and company, a LinkedIn URL or a stored ID. For Instantly users, the finder decides your bounce rate before the first send. A bad address costs more than a credit: it dents the sending domain you warmed up.
Instantly is a sequencer first. It also sells a Lead Finder and a verifier, but many teams source emails elsewhere and upload a CSV (Instantly pricing, October 2026). Growth caps uploaded contacts at 1,000, Hypergrowth at 25,000 and Light Speed at 100,000, so list quality matters from the first upload.
This page ranks seven finders on bounce protection first, then API, MCP and price. Several have a comparison page: Anymail Finder, Findymail, Prospeo, Hunter, Icypeas and FullEnrich. New to the category? Read what an email finder is.
TL;DR
| Tool | Best for | Starting price | Cost at 1M records a month |

| Findymail | Verified emails pushed straight to Instantly | Not quoted: pricing page unreadable to us | No public 1M price |
| LeadOcean | Building a list by filter, then exporting verified rows | Free (1,000 records, one-off). Solo $97 a month | $497 a month flat (Agency). Fair use applies |
| Prospeo | Reps who want an extension and pay per user | Free 100 credits a month. Starter $49 per user ($37 billed yearly) | $14,456 a month, cheapest public path ($11,223 once billed yearly) |

"1M records" means 1M work-email lookups that return a result, at list price, one credit each where the vendor uses credits. Where a vendor sells no plan at 1M, the cell shows the top public tier or says there is no public price.
What we evaluated
- Bounce protection: whether the address is checked live at lookup time, what status you get back, and whether the vendor credits a bounce.
- Cost of a miss: whether a lookup that finds nothing, or finds nothing verified, costs a credit.
- Fit with Instantly: a direct push, a clean CSV, or an API you script against.
- API and MCP: which plan opens the API, the default rate limit, and whether an agent can call the tool.
- Price at volume: the list price of 1M work-email lookups, from the vendor's own pricing page.
We read each vendor's pricing page and docs in September 2026. We ran no find-rate or bounce test, so we quote none of our own. A number a vendor publishes is labeled a vendor claim.
1. Anymail Finder: best for live-verified emails with a bounce credit
Anymail Finder verifies an address live and charges 1 credit only when it finds a valid one. A decision-maker search costs 2 credits. A search that finds no verified email is free, and a repeat within 30 days is free (Anymail Finder pricing, September 2026).
That is the closest match to what an Instantly user wants. You pay for emails you can send to, and a verified email that bounces can be reported for a credit back after review, under a 97%+ delivery guarantee. Export the results as a CSV and upload them.
Monthly plans run from $29 for 400 credits to $799 for 100,000. Past that you buy one-time packs, and the 1,000,000-credit pack is $4,990. The API docs state no rate limits and no daily call caps (Anymail Finder API docs, September 2026). The MCP server has five actions and signs in without a key (Anymail Finder MCP, September 2026).
Pros
- Pay only for emails it verifies, with a bounce credit after review.
- No rate limits stated in the API docs.
- Unlimited team members share one credit pool.
- Sign-in MCP for Claude, Cursor and ChatGPT.
Cons
- No database search. You bring the names and domains.
- The largest monthly plan is 100,000 credits for $799.
- The MCP server does not cover bulk files or webhooks.
Best for: Instantly users who already hold a list of names and domains and want every address checked live.
Pricing: $29 to $799 a month, or one-time packs up to $4,990 for 1,000,000 credits (Anymail Finder pricing, September 2026).
2. Findymail: best for verified emails pushed straight to Instantly
Findymail verifies each email when you ask for it and returns only verified addresses. A lookup that finds no verified email costs nothing. A Finder credit buys one email, and a phone number costs 10 credits (Findymail API docs, September 2026).
Its edge for this page is the sequencer push. The homepage lists a Chrome extension and a one-click push to Instantly, Smartlead, Lemlist and Woodpecker (Findymail homepage, September 2026). It also sells a standalone verifier for lists you already hold.
We could not read the pricing page, because it shows a bot check. We do not quote plans or a 1M price. Check Findymail pricing before you budget. The official MCP server has 14 tools (Findymail Cursor plugin, September 2026).
Pros
- Only verified emails are returned, and misses are free.
- Push to Instantly from the app, with no CSV step.
- Standalone verifier at 1 verifier credit per check.
Cons
- Pricing not readable by us, so cost at volume is unknown.
- Phone numbers are US only and cost 10 credits each.
- Lead search is a plain-language query capped at 5,000 companies, with no structured filters in the docs.
Best for: outbound teams and agencies that prospect in a browser and want addresses in Instantly with one click.
Pricing: not quoted. The Findymail pricing page showed us a bot check in October 2026. No public 1M price.
3. LeadOcean: best for building a list by filter and exporting verified rows
LeadOcean is a people and company database behind one REST API and one MCP server. It holds 693M people, 366M with an email, plus 67M companies. You search with 50 people filters and read an email_status on each record, from verified to spam_trap.
It does not verify at lookup time. The status is stored, the dataset is refreshed monthly, and a bounced email is not refunded. So you filter to the statuses you accept and send small first. That makes it a list builder, not a live checker.
A count is free. On 2026-10-21, leadocean_count_leads found 31,141 US VPs in Sales & Business Development whose emailStatus is verified, at 0 records. That counts people with a verified status, not people who will reply.
curl -X POST https://api.leadocean.io/v1/exports \
-H "x-api-key: $LEADOCEAN_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"name":"instantly upload","filters":{"jobLevel":["VP"],"jobFunction":["Sales & Business Development"],"country":["US"],"emailStatus":["verified"]},"limit":100,"columns":["person_id","profile_full_name","current_company_domain","email_N_address","email_N_status"]}'Pros
- Search by 50 people filters, then take the email from the same record.
- Email status on every record, so you choose your cutoff.
- Flat price: no credits, and Agency covers volume at $497 a month.
- REST and a 13-tool MCP server on every plan, including Free.
Cons
- No live check at lookup time and no bounce credit.
- Bulk CSV export is not on Free. It starts on Solo at $97 a month.
- No direct push to Instantly and no Chrome extension. You upload a CSV.
- The v2 contact endpoints cost one record per call, even on a miss.
Best for: Instantly users who build lists by title, seniority or industry and send only the statuses they trust.
Pricing: Free is 1,000 records, one-off, no card. Solo is $97 a month, Agency $497 and Platform $1,997. Paid plans have a fair-use pace, not credits (LeadOcean pricing, October 2026).
From LeadOcean to Instantly in 3 steps
- Count. Run
leadocean_count_leadsorcount=trueonPOST /v1/people/searchwithemailStatusset toverified. It is free. - Export. Send
POST /v1/exportswith the same filters, or use the Exports page in the app at app.leadocean.io. Takeemail_1_addressandemail_1_status. - Upload. Import the CSV through Instantly's lead upload and map the email column. Send 100 to 200 rows first and read the bounce rate.
The full recipe is in verify emails for Instantly, Smartlead and Lemlist.
4. Prospeo: best for reps who want an extension and pay per user
Prospeo sells an email and mobile finder per user, on credits. One verified email costs 1 credit and one mobile costs 10. A lookup with no result costs nothing, and re-enriching the same record within 90 days is free (Prospeo help, September 2026).
Free has 100 credits a month. Starter is $49 per user for 2,000 credits, Growth is $99 for 5,000 and Pro is $249 for 15,000 (Prospeo pricing, September 2026). Credits expire at the end of each cycle.
The Enrich API allows 5 requests a second on Starter and 30 on Pro, with daily caps from 2,000 to 500,000. The MCP server has 8 tools and signs in with OAuth 2.0 or an API key (Prospeo MCP docs, September 2026).
Pros
- Credits are charged on verified matches only.
- Chrome extension and CRM sync for reps.
- A miss costs no credit, and repeat enrichment is free for 90 days.
Cons
- Per-user pricing, so a team adds seats and credits together.
- No single tier reaches 1M. The cheapest public path is 44 Pro seats plus a $3,500 add-on.
- Daily caps of 2,000 on Starter and 5,000 on Growth.
Best for: reps and small teams that want an extension and pay-as-you-go verified emails.
Pricing: Free. Starter $49, Growth $99, Pro $249 per user a month (Prospeo pricing, September 2026).
5. Hunter: best for domain lookups with an app and extension
Hunter is built around a domain. One credit is one email found. Email Finder verifies the address it returns, and nothing is charged if nothing is found (Hunter help, September 2026). Email Verifier costs 0.5 credit per check, for lists you already hold.
Free gives 50 credits a month. Starter is $49 a month ($34 billed yearly) for 2,000 credits, Growth is $149 for 10,000 and Scale is $299 for 25,000 (Hunter pricing, September 2026). At volume the route is Data Platform: 1,000,000 Search credits for $6,900, bought once and valid 12 months (Hunter Data Platform, September 2026).
Email Finder allows 15 requests a second and 500 a minute. Note that Hunter returns 403 when you hit the rate limit and 429 when you run out of credits (Hunter API docs, September 2026). The MCP server takes your API key and is included on every plan (Hunter MCP, September 2026).
Pros
- Verifies the address it returns, and charges nothing for a miss.
- 15 requests a second on the core endpoints.
- MCP included on every plan.
- Browser extension for reps who do not use the API.
Cons
- Domain-first. Building a list by title or seniority means paging through domains.
- The top all-in-one plan stops at 25,000 credits a month.
- The 1M price is a one-off purchase, not a monthly bill.
Best for: teams that find emails by domain and want an app and extension beside the API.
Pricing: Free. Starter $49, Growth $149, Scale $299 a month, or less billed yearly (Hunter pricing, September 2026).
6. Icypeas: best for the lowest credit price at volume
Icypeas charges 1 credit per email found, and a search that finds nothing costs nothing. Its verifier costs 0.1 credit, and catch-all verification is on every plan (Icypeas docs, September 2026). Credits roll over with no expiry.
Basic is $19 a month for 1,000 credits. Hypergrowth starts at $499 for 100,000. The credit selector lists a 1,000,000-credit tier at $3,992 a month, or $39,920 for 12M credits billed yearly (Icypeas pricing, September 2026). Prices are plus VAT.
Email search allows 10 calls a second. The hosted MCP server lists 21 tools and signs in with your API key (Icypeas MCP guide, September 2026).
Pros
- The lowest public credit price here at 1M.
- A cheap verifier at 0.1 credit for lists you bring.
- API, MCP and catch-all verification on every plan.
Cons
- Phone Finder is listed as coming soon.
- 10 calls a second on email search is slow for bulk jobs.
- You bring the names. There is no filter search for a market.
Best for: teams that know the name and domain and want cheap, verified emails at volume.
Pricing: Basic $19, Premium $39, Advanced $89 and Hypergrowth $499 a month. 50 free credits on signup (Icypeas pricing, September 2026).
7. FullEnrich: best for waterfall emails and mobiles
FullEnrich queries 25+ sources per contact and charges for what it finds. A work email costs 1 credit, a personal email 3 and a mobile 10. Not found costs 0 (FullEnrich docs, September 2026). It states about an 80% work-email find rate, a vendor claim we did not test (FullEnrich pricing, September 2026).
Pro starts at $29 a month for 500 credits. The top monthly tier is 100,000 credits for $3,500 a month, and above that you contact sales. API, MCP and bulk CSV are on every plan, including the free trial of 50 credits.
The API allows 60 calls a minute, with up to 100 contacts per bulk request (FullEnrich docs, September 2026).
Pros
- Waterfall across 25+ sources, so one call covers several vendors.
- No charge for not found results.
- API, MCP and unlimited users on every plan.
Cons
- The highest credit price here, at $0.035 on the top monthly tier.
- No public 1M price.
- 60 API calls a minute is the lowest default limit on this page.
Best for: Instantly users who also need mobiles and want one call to cover several sources.
Pricing: Pro from $29 a month for 500 credits. Enterprise is custom (FullEnrich pricing, September 2026).

How to choose
- Bounce protection matters most and you hold the names: Anymail Finder. Live verification and a bounce credit.
- You want addresses inside Instantly with one click: Findymail. Check its pricing first.
- You build lists by title, seniority or industry: LeadOcean. Filter on
email_status, export, upload. - Your reps work in a browser: Hunter for domains, Prospeo for CRM sync and per-user pricing.
- You verify millions of addresses cheaply: Icypeas, at $3,992 a month for 1M.
- You also need mobiles: FullEnrich, at 10 credits per mobile.
- You want to check a list you already own: Hunter's verifier, Icypeas's verifier or Findymail's verifier, all priced per check.
Verdict
For Instantly, bounce protection decides the pick. Anymail Finder wins for known names: it verifies live and credits bounces. Findymail wins for a one-click push, once you have checked its price. LeadOcean wins when you build the list by filter and want a flat bill at volume, with the caveat that its status is stored, not live. Hunter suits teams that want an app, Icypeas suits cheap volume and FullEnrich suits mobiles. Whichever you choose, send 100 to 200 rows first and read the bounce rate before the full list goes out.
