Crustdata vs Wiza

Crustdata vs Wiza (2026): Data, Pricing and API Compared

Wiza prints its seat prices and verifies contacts live. Crustdata searches a 1B-person index but publishes credits, not dollars. Here is who should pick which.

Wiza is a LinkedIn-first email and phone finder that verifies each contact when you ask for it. Crustdata is a data API over a web-built index of people, companies, jobs and posts. Wiza is the one you can price from its site, from $49 a month per user. Crustdata is the one to test when you want to search by filter in code. Neither publishes a price per record at volume, so this page shows the arithmetic for both.

Verdict

  • Pick Wiza if a rep or a small team works from LinkedIn and wants emails and phones in a few clicks. You can read the seat price, and credits are charged only for emails Wiza marks valid. The Chrome extension and CRM sync are part of the product.
  • Pick Crustdata if you build in code or with agents and want to filter a 1B-person index first, then enrich only the people you keep. It also covers jobs, social posts and change watchers, which Wiza does not list.
  • Pick neither if you need a large list built by title, seniority and country, with phones, at a bill you can forecast. Wiza prices its API on a call, and Crustdata prices credits you convert yourself. LeadOcean searches 693M people for a flat $499 a month.

Side by side

All prices are USD list prices, checked in September 2026. Monthly price first, billed-yearly figure after it.

Data and coverage

Crustdata is a search index. Wiza is a contact finder with a search box on top. Crustdata answers "which people match these filters". Wiza answers "what is the verified email or phone for this person".

Crustdata claims 1B people on its homepage. The same page states 60M companies in its search copy and 200M+ in a graph stat, so this page quotes no single company count (Crustdata, September 2026). The index also holds jobs, social posts and company signals.

Wiza claims "850M+ contacts" and says it checks a contact against live sources the moment you request it (Wiza, September 2026). That is a live-check model, not a stored one. Its API page describes more than 50 data points per contact and 20+ search filters (Wiza API, September 2026). No company count is published.

Neither vendor publishes how many of its people have an email or a phone. Crustdata's dedicated contact endpoint returns four email statuses: deliverable, catch_all, invalid and unknown. It needs an enterprise plan, and self-serve keys get a 403 (Crustdata contact docs, September 2026).

Wiza's billing rule is the practical difference. It deducts credits only when a valid email or a phone is returned, and unmatched profile URLs are free (Wiza docs, September 2026). Test a sample of your own list on both before you buy.

Credit expiry is unsettled at Crustdata. Its docs say purchased credits expire after 12 months (Crustdata credits, September 2026). A blog post from 30 July 2026 says 6 months (Crustdata blog, September 2026), so confirm the term in your dashboard. Wiza API credits are valid for 12 months (Wiza docs, September 2026).

API and developer experience

Both are REST APIs with a hosted MCP server. Crustdata takes a profile URL and returns a profile. Wiza takes a profile URL, a name and company, or filters, and returns a verified contact.

Crustdata, enrich a person by profile URL, from its docs.

bash
curl --request POST \
  --url https://api.crustdata.com/person/enrich \
  --header "authorization: Bearer $CRUSTDATA_API_KEY" \
  --header "content-type: application/json" \
  --header "x-api-version: 2025-11-01" \
  --data '{"professional_network_profile_urls": ["https://www.linkedin.com/in/jane-doe/"]}'

That returns the base profile for 1 credit. The pricing docs add 1 credit for a business email and 2 for a phone (Crustdata pricing docs, September 2026). Each request takes up to 25 profile URLs.

Wiza, Individual Reveal, from its authorization docs.

bash
curl -X POST https://wiza.co/api/individual_reveals \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $WIZA_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"individual_reveal": {"profile_url": "https://www.linkedin.com/in/jane-doe/"}, "enrichment_level": "partial"}'

You fetch the result with a GET on /api/individual_reveals/{id}, and the credits object shows what was deducted. A phone returns 5 credits, a valid email 2 and a matched profile 1 (Wiza docs, September 2026). Wiza's prospect search returns at most 30 results per call (Wiza docs, September 2026).

Rate limits favor Wiza on single lookups. Crustdata defaults to 15 requests a minute on person enrich and 30 on search (Crustdata rate limits, September 2026). Wiza's help center states 15 requests a second on Individual Reveal. Its docs describe the same endpoint as a concurrency limit of 5 on Starter API and 15+ on Enterprise API (Wiza usage limits, September 2026). The two pages do not agree, so confirm yours.

At 15 a second, 1M single lookups take about 18.5 hours (1,000,000 / 15 = 66,667 seconds). On Crustdata they take about 46 days (1,000,000 / 15 a minute). Crustdata's answer is batch jobs of up to 10,000 identifiers. Wiza's is queued Individual Reveal requests (Wiza bulk docs, September 2026).

On MCP, Wiza's server needs API access and available API credits, and exposes five tools (Wiza MCP guide, September 2026). Crustdata's accepts OAuth for interactive clients and an API key as a bearer token for code (Crustdata MCP docs, September 2026).

Pricing

Wiza prints seat prices and sells API credits on a call. Crustdata prints only credits. The examples assume every lookup finds a valid work email.

10,000 work emails a month

  • Wiza Email plan, billed monthly: $99 a month per user includes 500 valid emails, and extras cost $0.15 each (Wiza pricing, September 2026). 500 included plus 9,500 extra: $99 + 9,500 x $0.15 = $1,524, or about $0.152 per email.
  • Wiza API: 10,000 x 2 credits = 20,000 API credits. The price per credit is not public (Wiza API, September 2026).
  • Crustdata: 10,000 x 2 credits (1 base + 1 business email) = 20,000 credits on /person/enrich, or 10,000 credits on the enterprise-only contact endpoint (Crustdata pricing docs, September 2026). No public price per credit, so no dollar total.

Wiza's annual Email plan is $83 a month per user, billed at $990 a year, with unlimited email reveals and 2,500 exports a month (Wiza pricing, September 2026). 10,000 exports a month would need 4 seats, and plans for 3 or more users are the custom-priced Team plan. So there is no list price for that volume.

1M work emails

  • Wiza: No public 1M price. The API is priced on a call, so ask for an API quote (Wiza API, September 2026).
  • Crustdata: No public 1M price. 1,000,000 x (1 + 1) = 2,000,000 credits on /person/enrich, or 1,000,000 credits on the enterprise-only contact endpoint. Dollars equal credits times your quoted price per credit, which is not public.

We do not multiply a rate out to 1M for Crustdata, because no rate is published. Ask both vendors for a quote with your volume and endpoint, and ask Crustdata whether credits expire at 6 or 12 months.

Where Crustdata wins

  • A bigger people index. It claims 1B people, against Wiza's 850M+ contacts.
  • Search before you spend. Search is 0.03 credits per result, and company identify and autocomplete are free (Crustdata pricing docs, September 2026). You narrow the list, then enrich the people you keep.
  • Signals Wiza does not list. Job search, social posts and entity watchers at 5 credits per changed person on the 30-day schedule.
  • No seat to buy. Crustdata is an API with credits. Wiza's API access sits on the Team plan, which is custom priced (Wiza pricing, September 2026).

Where Wiza wins

  • A price you can read. Free, Starter $49, Email $99 and Email + Phone $199 a month per user are on one page. Crustdata's pricing page lists no plan names or dollar prices.
  • Live verification. Wiza checks a contact when you ask and charges only for valid emails. Crustdata's person enrich returns a cached profile by default (Crustdata docs, September 2026).
  • A LinkedIn workflow. Wiza ships a Chrome extension, CSV export and CRM integrations on its paid plans (Wiza, September 2026).
  • Higher single-lookup throughput. 15 requests a second per the help center, against 15 a minute on Crustdata person enrich.
  • A known phone price. 5 API credits per phone, or $0.35 per phone number on the Email plan.

If you need volume through an API

LeadOcean fits when the job is building a list, not filling one in. It holds 693M people, 366M with an email and 166M with a phone number, plus 63M companies, behind REST and a 12-tool MCP server. Pro is $499 a month flat with no credits, and Free gives 1,000 records one-off with no card. POST /v1/exports returns up to 50,000 rows per request, and the rate limit is 100 requests per second per key.

LeadOcean refreshes its dataset monthly, with a fetched_at date on each record. It does not credit back bounces, so read email_status before you send. It has no Chrome extension, sequencer or change watchers. See the Crustdata alternative page for a line-by-line comparison, the Crustdata alternatives list or LeadOcean pricing. FAQ

Is Crustdata or Wiza cheaper?

Wiza is the only one you can price from public pages: $49 to $199 a month per user billed monthly, or $83 and $166 billed yearly. Crustdata publishes credits, not dollars per credit. Ask both for a quote at your volume.

Which has more data?

Crustdata claims 1B people on its homepage. Wiza claims 850M+ contacts. The counts are self-reported, so compare find rates on a sample of your own list.

Do Crustdata and Wiza have an API and an MCP server?

Yes, both. Crustdata's MCP server is at install.crustdata.com/mcp and Wiza's is at mcp.wiza.co/mcp. Wiza's needs API access enabled and API credits, and exposes 5 tools.

What do the rate limits look like?

Crustdata defaults to 15 requests a minute on person enrich and 30 on search. Wiza's help center says 15 requests a second on Individual Reveal, and its docs list a concurrency limit instead. Both document bulk routes.

Do they charge when nothing is found?

Wiza charges credits only when a valid email or a phone is returned, and unmatched profile URLs are free. Crustdata does not bill a miss on contact enrich. Person enrich bills the base profile when a person is matched.

Does either tool have a free plan?

Wiza's Free plan gives 20 valid emails and 5 phone numbers. Crustdata's pricing page lists no plans at all, so it publishes no free plan.
