Findymail and Icypeas do the same core job. You give a name and a company domain, and you get an email back. Findymail returns only verified emails and has a wider tool set around the finder. Icypeas publishes a price at 1M credits, $3,992 a month, and Findymail does not.

Verdict

  • Pick Findymail if you want only verified emails back, need US mobile numbers, and want lead search, lookalikes and signals next to the finder (Findymail API docs, September 2026).
  • Pick Icypeas if you want a published price at every volume, credits that roll over, and structured people and company filters with free counts (Icypeas pricing, September 2026).
  • Pick neither if you search a database by filter and pull people at volume with no name list. Both tools start from a name or a profile. LeadOcean is one option, covered below.

Data and coverage

Neither tool publishes a clean record count for a finder. Findymail publishes none at all. Icypeas quotes 575M business professionals, 1.8B emails, 280M phone numbers and 62M company profiles on its features page (Icypeas features, September 2026).

Those Icypeas numbers count emails and phones, not people, so they are not a find rate. The ratio is about three emails per person, which tells you nothing about how many people you can reach. Test your own list before you trust any of them. Run 200 contacts you know through both tools and count the hits.

The two tools treat verification differently. Findymail spends a finder credit only when it finds a verified email (Findymail API docs, September 2026). A separate verifier checks an address you already own for one verifier credit.

Icypeas verifies on its own meter. A verification costs 0.1 credit, and a search that finds nothing costs no credit (Icypeas credit costs, September 2026). Icypeas also lists catch-all validation on every plan (Icypeas pricing, September 2026).

Search is where they split, and it matters if you build lists rather than enrich them. Findymail has Intellimatch, a plain-language query for companies and contacts, plus lookalike search and signals (Findymail API docs, September 2026). Icypeas has Find People and Find Companies with a set of structured filters, at 0.02 credit per result (Icypeas credit costs, September 2026).

Phones are the clearest gap. Findymail has a phone finder today, at 10 credits a number, and it returns nothing for EU citizens (Findymail API docs, September 2026). Icypeas lists Phone Finder as coming soon. If you need mobile numbers now, only Findymail ships a phone endpoint.

API and developer experience

Both are plain REST APIs with a key, and both take a name and a domain as the main input. The difference is the shape of the call. Findymail answers in the same request. Icypeas takes the search and gives back an id you poll for the result.

Findymail, find an email from a name and domain. Placeholders stand in for a real person.

bash
curl --request POST "https://app.findymail.com/api/search/name" \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer $FINDYMAIL_API_KEY" \
  --header "Content-Type: application/json" \
--data '{"name": "Jane Doe", "domain": "acme.com"}'

The response carries the contact and email. Add a webhook_url and the search runs in the background, then posts the result to you (Findymail API docs, September 2026).

Icypeas, submit a search, then read it by id.

bash
curl -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -H "Authorization: $ICYPEAS_API_KEY" \
  https://app.icypeas.com/api/email-search \
  -d '{"firstname": "Jane", "lastname": "Doe", "domainOrCompany": "acme.com"}'

The response holds a status and an _id. You post that id to /api/bulk-single-searchs/read until the status moves to DEBITED (Icypeas getting started, September 2026). That is one extra call per lookup, or a webhook.

The Icypeas docs also tell you not to use the single route for many searches. Use bulk search instead, which takes up to 5,000 rows per call at 1 call a second (Icypeas rate limits, September 2026).

Rate limits are different kinds of limit. Findymail caps simultaneous requests at 300, with find from domain at 5 (Findymail API docs, September 2026). Icypeas caps rate: 10 calls a second on email search (Icypeas rate limits, September 2026). Icypeas says limits can change at any time.

On MCP, both ship a hosted server. Findymail has 14 tools and signs you in through the browser. Icypeas has 21 tools and asks for your API key. Findymail also gives you the key route for scripted setups (Findymail Cursor plugin, September 2026).

Pricing

Both tools bill per credit, and both charge only for a found email. Findymail's pricing page blocks automated reading, so we do not quote its plans. Read them on Findymail's pricing page. Icypeas publishes every tier, so its numbers are firm.

At 10,000 found emails a month

  • Findymail: 10,000 finder credits at 1 credit per email. The dollar price is on Findymail's pricing page, which we could not read in September 2026.
  • Icypeas: 10,000 credits is the Advanced plan, $89 a month, or $74.17 a month billed yearly ($890 for 120,000 credits) (Icypeas pricing, September 2026).

At 1M found emails a month

  • Findymail: 1,000,000 finder credits. No 1M price we could read. Expect a quote.
  • Icypeas: 1,000,000 credits at 1 per found email. The published tier is $3,992 a month, which is $0.003992 a credit. Billed yearly, 12M credits cost $39,920, which is $3,326.67 a month (Icypeas pricing, September 2026). Prices exclude VAT.

The Icypeas 1M tier is cheaper than ten 100,000-credit Hypergrowth steps, which would cost $4,990. Its credit selector is hidden in the plain-text render of the page, so re-check the live selector before a big purchase.

Phones change the sums, and so does the second pool of credits. At 10 credits a number, 10,000 Findymail phone numbers cost 100,000 credits (Findymail API docs, September 2026). Icypeas lists no phone price because Phone Finder is not live.

A verified-only result also changes what you pay for. Findymail charges only when it can verify. On Icypeas a found email costs 1 credit, and you can check it afterwards for 0.1 credit.

Both examples assume every lookup finds an email. Misses cost nothing on either tool, so your real total tracks your hit rate. For a list with many stale addresses, that keeps both bills lower.

Where Findymail wins

  • A verified-only result. You pay a finder credit only when it finds a verified email.
  • A phone finder that ships today, for US numbers.
  • A synchronous call. One request returns the contact, with no polling.
  • More around the finder: Intellimatch lead search, lookalikes, exclusion lists and signals (Findymail API docs, September 2026).
  • A free sign-up with an API key and no card (Findymail API page, September 2026).

Where Icypeas wins

  • A published price at every volume, including 1M credits at $3,992 a month.
  • Credits that roll over with no expiry and no stacking cap, even after a downgrade or cancellation (Icypeas pricing, September 2026).
  • A low entry plan, $19 a month, and 50 free credits to test.
  • Structured people and company filters, with free counts.
  • More MCP tools (21 against 14) and no-code connectors for Make, Zapier and n8n.

If you need volume through an API

LeadOcean is a people and company database you call over REST or MCP, not a finder you feed with names. Free gives you 1,000 records one-off with no card, and Pro is $499 a month flat with no credits and no per-record price. Both plans get the same REST API and 12-tool MCP server, and POST /v1/exports returns up to 50,000 rows per request (LeadOcean exports docs, September 2026). It has no name-plus-domain lookup, so keep Findymail or Icypeas for that job. Read the Findymail alternatives and pricing pages, then test it on a list you already know.

FAQ

Is Findymail or Icypeas better for finding emails?

Findymail returns only verified emails and adds a phone finder. Icypeas publishes its price at volume and rolls credits over. Run the same 200 contacts through both and compare the hit rate before you pick.

Which is cheaper at 1M records a month?

Icypeas lists 1,000,000 credits at $3,992 a month, or $3,326.67 a month billed yearly (Icypeas pricing, September 2026). Findymail has no public 1M price, so you need a quote. We could not read its pricing page past a bot check.

Do Findymail and Icypeas have an API and MCP server?

Yes to both. Findymail has a REST API with Bearer auth and a 14-tool MCP server. Icypeas has a REST API with a key header and a hosted 21-tool MCP server, listed on every plan.

Which one finds phone numbers?

Findymail does, for US numbers only, at 10 credits each. It returns nothing for EU citizens. Icypeas lists Phone Finder as coming soon, so it has no phone endpoint to call today.

Do I pay when a lookup finds nothing?

No, on both. Findymail charges a finder credit only if a verified email is found. Icypeas charges 1 credit per found email, and a search that finds nothing costs none.

Is there a cheaper way to pull a million records?

Yes, if you search by filter instead of by name. LeadOcean Pro is $499 a month flat, and a very large month is paced down rather than billed extra. See Prospeo vs Icypeas, Hunter vs Icypeas and FullEnrich vs Icypeas for more comparisons.
