LeadMagic and Datagma both find work emails and mobile numbers by API, and both bill only for a match. LeadMagic is built for agents and scripts, with a hosted MCP server and a people database to search. Datagma is built for mobiles, with a free plan and a Chrome extension.

Verdict

  • Pick LeadMagic if a script or an agent does the work. It has a first-party MCP server, a published rate limit, a search API over 400M+ people and self-serve plans up to 100,000 credits a month.
  • Pick Datagma if you need direct mobiles for a list of names and companies. It has a free plan, WhatsApp detection and a $49 entry plan, against $99 for LeadMagic.
  • Pick neither if you need to search a database by filters and pull volume at a price you can read. Neither publishes a 1M price. LeadOcean is one option: Pro is $499 a month, flat.

Data and coverage

LeadMagic publishes a dataset size and Datagma does not. LeadMagic lists 400M+ people, 25M+ companies and 46M+ job posts. Datagma describes real-time lookups and gives no count (LeadMagic, September 2026; Datagma, September 2026).

Neither publishes a find rate for emails or phones. Datagma claims "best coverage in Europe & US" and under 2% bounce for emails. It claims phone coverage in India, the UK, the US, APAC and Europe. These are its own claims, so test them on your list.

The inputs differ. LeadMagic's email finder takes a name plus a domain or company name, or a profile URL (LeadMagic docs, September 2026). Datagma's pitch is the phone: it finds a mobile from a name and a company with no profile URL, and it checks WhatsApp (Datagma, September 2026).

LeadMagic can also search. Its People Search and Company Search endpoints return people by title, function, seniority, company and geography. Datagma has no search over a database. Its Find People endpoint returns up to 10 people at one company for 10 credits (Datagma API docs, September 2026).

Both handle catch-all addresses with care. Datagma returns an unverifiable catch-all as "Most Probable" and does not bill it. LeadMagic validates every email it finds and bills only a valid one (Datagma API, September 2026; LeadMagic docs, September 2026).

API and developer experience

LeadMagic is a JSON API with a header key. Datagma is a GET API with the key in the URL. Both are short to call.

LeadMagic's email finder is POST /v1/people/email-finder. The key goes in an X-API-Key header (LeadMagic docs, September 2026):

bash
curl -X POST "https://api.leadmagic.io/v1/people/email-finder" \
  -H "X-API-Key: $LEADMAGIC_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"first_name":"Jane","last_name":"Doe","domain":"acme.com"}'

A valid email costs 1 credit and a null result is free. The response carries a status, the credits_consumed and an employment_verified flag.

Datagma's work email call is GET /v8/findEmail. The apiId key goes in the query string (Datagma API docs, September 2026).

bash
curl "https://gateway.datagma.net/api/ingress/v8/findEmail?apiId=$DATAGMA_API_ID&fullName=Jane%20Doe&company=acme.com"

A key in a query string ends up in server logs and proxy logs, so keep calls server-side. Datagma's full enrichment call, GET /v2/full, costs 2 credits per match (Datagma API, September 2026).

On limits, LeadMagic publishes 600 requests a minute on the email finder, and search runs at 5 requests a second on Professional and 10 on Ultimate (LeadMagic docs, September 2026). Datagma's docs and API page list no request limit.

On MCP, LeadMagic runs its own hosted server. Sign-in is OAuth only and no static key is accepted, so you sign in through a browser rather than paste a key (LeadMagic MCP, September 2026). Datagma has no first-party server that we could find. The Zapier-run server lists five actions: job change, find email, find employees, enrich and find mobile (Zapier, September 2026).

Pricing

LeadMagic sells one credit pool: 1 credit per valid email, 5 per mobile. Datagma sells separate email and phone allowances. To compare, convert both to a monthly cost for the same number of records. List prices below are monthly billing, with the billed-yearly figure after it.

At 10,000 records a month

Take 10,000 valid work emails. For LeadMagic that is 10,000 credits. Essential holds 5,000, so Growth fits: $249 a month for 20,000 credits, or $208 a month billed yearly (LeadMagic pricing, September 2026).

For Datagma, Popular holds 7,500 emails, so Expert fits: $249 a month for 22,500 emails and 750 phones, with 20% off billed yearly (Datagma pricing, September 2026).

On emails the two list at the same $249 a month. Billed yearly, LeadMagic is $208 a month and Datagma takes 20% off. Both bill only for a match, so 10,000 valid emails can take more than 10,000 lookups.

Now take 10,000 mobile numbers. LeadMagic needs 10,000 x 5 = 50,000 credits. Professional is $499 a month for 50,000 credits, or $416 a month billed yearly.

Datagma has no public price for that. Expert holds 750 phones a month, and 10,000 / 750 is 13.3 times that allowance. Enterprise is custom. Datagma's homepage says "from $0.28/phone", but that rate comes with a plan allowance of at most 750 phones a month (Datagma, September 2026).

Rollover differs. LeadMagic monthly plans roll over up to 2x the monthly allocation, and annual plans do not. Datagma says unused credits roll over for 12 months (LeadMagic pricing guide, September 2026; Datagma, September 2026).

At 1M records a month

Neither tool has a public 1M price. LeadMagic's top public plan is Ultimate at $849 a month for 100,000 credits, so 1M is 1,000,000 / 100,000 = 10 times that plan. Top-up prices and Enterprise credit rates are not published. Enterprise starts at $2,490 a quarter, paid upfront (LeadMagic pricing, September 2026).

Datagma's top public plan is Expert at 22,500 emails and 750 phones a month. 1,000,000 / 22,500 is 44 times that email allowance. Enterprise is custom and sold through sales (Datagma pricing, September 2026).

It is tempting to multiply a per-credit rate by 1M. Do not call the result a quote. No self-serve plan sells it, and Enterprise terms are negotiated. Ask each vendor for a written quote at your volume.

Where LeadMagic wins

  • A first-party MCP server. Hosted, with OAuth sign-in. Datagma's only listing is run by Zapier.
  • Search. 400M+ people and 25M+ companies you can query by title, function and company. Datagma enriches what you bring.
  • Published limits and a bigger ladder. 600 requests a minute on the email finder, and self-serve plans up to 100,000 credits.
  • Cheaper mobiles at volume. At 10,000 mobiles, $499 for 50,000 credits, against an Enterprise quote.
  • Job and ad data. 46M+ job posts and a job change check at 3 credits.

Where Datagma wins

  • A free plan. 90 emails and 3 phones a month with API access and no card. LeadMagic has no free plan or trial credits.
  • Cheaper at the bottom. Regular is $49 a month for 3,000 emails and 100 phones, against LeadMagic's $99 for 5,000 credits.
  • Mobiles from a name and a company. No profile URL needed, with a WhatsApp check on top.
  • A Chrome extension and a file upload. A rep can click a profile, or upload a CSV of up to 50k rows.
  • Rollover for 12 months. Unused credits carry over for a year.

If you need volume through an API

We build LeadOcean, so weigh this section accordingly. LeadOcean holds 693M people and 63M companies, reachable over REST and MCP. Free is 1,000 records, one-off, with no card. Pro is $499 a month, flat, with unlimited searches and lookups and 100 requests per second per key (LeadOcean pricing, September 2026).

For bulk work, POST /v1/exports returns up to 50,000 rows per request. The app has an Exports page with a filter builder and CSV download (LeadOcean exports docs, September 2026). There is no sequencer, dialer, CRM or Chrome extension. If you only need a few thousand lookups a month, either tool above costs less.

FAQ

Is LeadMagic cheaper than Datagma?

At the bottom, Datagma: Regular is $49 a month and Free is $0, while LeadMagic starts at $99. At 10,000 emails a month the two list at $249 each. For 10,000 mobiles LeadMagic has a public price of $499 and Datagma has none.

Does Datagma have an MCP server?

Not a first-party one that we found. Zapier runs a Datagma MCP server with five actions (Zapier, September 2026). LeadMagic hosts its own at mcp.leadmagic.io/mcp with OAuth sign-in (LeadMagic MCP, September 2026).

Which finds more mobile numbers?

Neither publishes a phone find rate. Datagma is built around mobiles and finds them from a name and a company. LeadMagic's mobile finder costs 5 credits per valid number. Run the same 500 people through both and count the numbers returned.

Does LeadMagic have a free plan?

No. It is pay-as-you-go from $99 a month, with a 14-day money-back guarantee on the first subscription payment (LeadMagic help, September 2026). Datagma's Free plan gives 90 emails and 3 phones a month (Datagma pricing, September 2026).

Can either tool do 1M records a month?

Not at a public price. LeadMagic's top plan is 100,000 credits a month and Datagma's is 22,500 emails, so 1M needs an Enterprise quote from either.
