LeadMagic is the wider tool and Findymail is the narrower one. LeadMagic sells emails, mobiles, people and company search, job posts and ad data on one credit pool. Findymail finds and verifies emails and phones, and adds lead search and signals. Both charge only when a lookup succeeds, and neither gives a 1M price in its docs.

Verdict

  • Pick LeadMagic if you want a published price ladder from $99 a month, people and company search, job and ad data, and a larger MCP server (LeadMagic pricing, September 2026).
  • Pick Findymail if you start from names, domains or profile URLs and want verified emails, a standalone verifier and a bearer-token MCP option (Findymail API docs, September 2026).
  • Pick neither if you need people and company data by API at 1M records a month. Both bill by the credit and neither gives a price there in its docs. LeadOcean is one option, covered below.

Data and coverage

LeadMagic is a database you search. Findymail is a finder you feed. That difference decides most choices.

LeadMagic lists 400M+ people, 25M+ companies and 46M+ job posts on its homepage (LeadMagic, September 2026). You can search people by title, function, seniority, company and geography, then reveal the email or mobile you want. Searching in the app spends no credits on any paid plan (LeadMagic pricing, September 2026).

Findymail does not publish a record count. You bring a name and a company, or a profile URL, and it returns an email only when it finds a verified one (Findymail API docs, September 2026). It also has Intellimatch, a plain-language company search that exports up to 5,000 companies per search. It is a semantic query, not a filter set.

Phones are narrow on both sides. LeadMagic charges 5 credits per valid mobile. Findymail charges 10 per number found and returns nothing for EU citizens (Findymail API docs, September 2026). Neither publishes how many numbers it holds, so test a sample of your own list.

Findymail adds signals, lookalike company search and reverse email lookup. Signals report job changes, new hires, keyword mentions and post engagement (Findymail API docs, September 2026). LeadMagic answers with a job change detector at 3 credits a check, plus job post and ad search.

API and developer experience

Both are REST APIs with a hosted MCP server. LeadMagic finds an email at POST /v1/people/email-finder. Findymail finds one at POST /api/search/name. Placeholders below stand in for real people.

LeadMagic, find a work email from a name and domain.

bash
curl -X POST 'https://api.leadmagic.io/v1/people/email-finder' \
  -H "X-API-Key: $LEADMAGIC_API_KEY" \
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
  -d '{"first_name":"Jane","last_name":"Doe","domain":"acme.com"}'

A hit returns status: valid and credits_consumed: 1. A miss returns null and costs nothing (LeadMagic docs, September 2026). The docs also set a Fair Use rule. A sustained find rate below 10% can bring throttling or suspension, even with prepaid credits.

Findymail, find an email from a name and domain.

bash
curl --request POST 'https://app.findymail.com/api/search/name' \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer $FINDYMAIL_API_KEY" \
  --header 'Content-Type: application/json' \
--data '{"name": "Jane Doe", "domain": "acme.com"}'

It uses one finder credit only if a verified email is found. Add a webhook_url and the search runs in the background (Findymail API docs, September 2026). The older find-from-domain call is marked deprecated, and the docs point to Find Employees.

On limits, the two measure different things. LeadMagic caps the email finder at 600 requests a minute, with a burst of about 10 a second (LeadMagic docs, September 2026). Findymail caps concurrency at 300 simultaneous requests, with lower caps on a few endpoints. Test both with your real load.

On MCP, LeadMagic's hosted server accepts OAuth sign-in only, with no static API key, and LeadMagic states 130+ hosted tools (LeadMagic MCP page, October 2026). Findymail's server has 14 tools and accepts browser sign-in or a bearer token. Findymail's README says lookups that find nothing are free.

Pricing

Both sell credits and charge for a hit, not a miss. LeadMagic publishes a four-step ladder. We could not read Findymail's plan prices, so check its pricing page. Prices below use the monthly list price first, with the billed-yearly price after it.

At 10,000 work emails a month

  • LeadMagic: 10,000 emails x 1 credit = 10,000 credits. Essential holds 5,000, so the fit is Growth: 20,000 credits for $249 a month, or $208 a month billed yearly ($2,490 a year) (LeadMagic pricing, September 2026). Monthly plans bank unused credits up to 2x the monthly allocation.
  • Findymail: 10,000 finder credits if every lookup finds a verified email. Real use is lower, because misses cost nothing. Read the plan step that covers 10,000 on Findymail pricing.

At 1M work emails a month

  • LeadMagic: 1,000,000 credits. No public 1M price. The largest self-serve plan is Ultimate, $849 a month for 100,000 credits (LeadMagic pricing, September 2026). Above that is Enterprise, from $2,490 a quarter paid upfront, with custom volume pricing and no published per-credit rate.
  • Findymail: 1,000,000 finder credits. Its API docs give no 1M price, so ask for a quote.

Neither is a number you can budget from. Both would be a sales conversation. We do not multiply a plan rate out to 1M, because a rate is not a quote.

Mobile numbers change the sums. A mobile costs 5 credits on LeadMagic and 10 on Findymail. A 1M mobile pull is 5M credits on one and 10M on the other. Findymail also returns nothing for EU citizens.

LeadMagic top-ups exist, but the price is not published (LeadMagic help, September 2026). LeadMagic has no free plan or trial credits. It is pay-as-you-go from $99 a month, with a 14-day money-back guarantee on the first payment (LeadMagic help, September 2026).

Where LeadMagic wins

  • A published price ladder, from $99 for 5,000 credits to $849 for 100,000, so you can budget before you talk to anyone.
  • People, company and job search, with zero-credit search through the API on Professional and Ultimate (LeadMagic People Search docs, September 2026).
  • Job post data and ad search, which Findymail does not list.
  • A larger stated MCP toolset, 130+ hosted tools against 14, covering people, companies and jobs.
  • Credits that roll over on monthly plans, up to 2x the monthly allocation.

Where Findymail wins

  • A standalone verifier at POST /api/verify, 1 verifier credit per check, with a separate credit pool (Findymail API docs, September 2026).
  • A bearer-token option for MCP, so a headless agent can connect without a browser sign-in. LeadMagic is OAuth only.
  • Signals, lookalike company search and reverse email lookup in the same API.
  • Async mode on email lookups with a webhook_url, so a large batch does not hold a connection open.
  • A narrow tool that does one job, with a concurrency limit that is easy to read.

If you need volume through an API

LeadOcean is a people and company database with no credits and no per-record price. Pro is $499 a month, flat, and the Free plan gives 1,000 records one-off with no card. Both plans get the same REST API and 12-tool MCP server, and POST /v1/exports returns up to 50,000 rows per request (LeadOcean exports docs, September 2026). It has no name-plus-domain lookup, so you search a domain first and enrich by person. Read pricing and LeadMagic alternatives, then run it against a list you know.
